saw a couple of candian air force nylon jackets recently on ebay with mouton collars and a slant, or off to one side, zipper. loved them but were a size too small for me. not the parkas, but very cool (not temp wise, but culture wise)...might still be up there under canadian flight jacket or...
and yet
in response to mr. finch and my good forum friend/nemesis legume coat, the alpha b-15 repro might be the deal
http://www.alphaindustries.com/Mens-Flight-Jackets/Alpha-Industries-Replica-B-15-Flight-Jacket.asp
as my coated legume pal would like, this jacket looks to my...
the mystery of jack london
the mystery lives on. rubber fireman's jacket would make sense since he's apparently on a boat. my bad for posting this as a leather jacket. but not as bad as pcote :P
p.s. this thread has offered me no closure on this issue.
def cool...but what loox like a badge holder (sorry for the contradict pcote) is actually there on every jacket closure...looks like the push through hardware to hold the closures in place, which with the collar, make it look like a sea navigation style jacket to humble litto me.
of course he...
N-2B REViEW...(of the rothco version)
well, it arrived today, and a very nice piece that acquits the N-2B style well. hell, for $50 on amazon with $9.95 shipping, received in 4 days from order, it's great.
that said, let it be known that while this has a 'mil' tag number, this is milspec in...
v., your jacket looks like the perfect fit. i like mine one-half to one size up from that as i'm a poser, not a rider. but as for the fit in your pic, i can't imagine wanting it any tighter...looks good.
legume jacket...i'll definitely stick your face somewhere with my photoshop skills on my next post ;P
am still waiting to see that lufthorse on you...will i have to concoct what i imagine it looks like in photoshop???
otherwise, it's been an eye opener as to the abuse nylon mil jackets can...
better than you think
the orchards i believe were made under military contract, though later ones may be mil spec but not specifically under contract...i have gotten a couple and had seen the contract number in the label, tho i don't want to go dig it out right now (mine's a mint condition 46...
thanks subject...if you see my original post i have stuck my face on top of the manufacturer's actual pic of the black rothco N-2B, which is the color i bought.
i believe, but someone may correct me, rothco has made these under military contract in the past, tho this one is stated to be mil...
yay for 'N's!
what a wonderful surprise to find all the hardcore leather heads appreciating this remarkable jacket!
more and more leather jacks are too expensive and too beautiful to be used for their once-purely functional purpose. i'd never throw a $600 vanson or $900 eastman in the back...
wondering if i'm a heretic on this forum for having fallen in love with the workhorse of the cold, smart-looking but non-leather N-2B (the later spawn of the korean war era N-3B)?
i adore my leather motor and mil jacks from a-2s, G-1s and vanson sportrider, etc...but being in lalaland calif. i...
hmmm...i don't think they have that many employees...i believe it is a small co. run like a smaller company.
the jackets are the most amazing thing, but yes, because it is small they can't get to custom orders and repairs in a timely manner. i was lucky in that i found a jacket i liked off the...
hi mack...yes, my sportrider perf, basically the same jacket, feels super strong and indestructable...they say they actually drill the 1-2mm holes in this jacket, rather than stamping them. i can believe it. i feel like a knight of the Roundtable with it on, like metalmesh. this leather seems...
guys guys...reeeeeeeeeeeLax.
cuthbert (r u related to dilbert?)...would love to hear reviews...you already enhanced my knowledge concerning the xx...no pun intended (or was it...hehehheh). but definitely pictures. i do actually live in a trailer as i live the dream (the lifestyle of being an...
thanks cuth...or bert...or...well, just thanks. i especially nurture my verbosity as i grew up watching and enjoying william f. buckley jr. on firing line, and was always entertained despite his generally regressive viewpoints.
as for reviewing the jackets, i only review what i get, tho i'd...
congrats!...my luftwaffe
congrats peter! i got the same, size 46, and it's like going back in time, flawless fitting despite it being a stock size, and quality that is at the pinnacle. would also love to see pix of it on you...but from having one i know it gets no better than this.
couldn't...
GOT this jacket in the size 50 today
just an update since i returned the 48 you see in the picture for one size up at size 50.
fits perfectly and is the ultimate dream jacket for warmer climes. i'll probably get another picture with the 50 to compare to the 48 above. just a note that unless...
