well, i've come back to haunt the fedlounge like a bad horror film sequel. but not just to spout off.

i had the schott. really nice and classic, tho more a post war pseudo motorcycle/travel style, or rather a civi version of the military G-1. it's become a classic in it's own right, understanding it is NOT a military or military issue-style jacket. i would have kept mine except they run short...
hi...thought i'd offer a counter view on schott sizing. i'm actually a 42 suit jacket size, and have found schott, along with other manufacturers such as vanson, are sized to be skin tite (sp on purpose).
i ordered a 184sm new and thought with a 42 coat size a 46 would be fine. what i got was...
so true that the quality varies everywhere, all countries, except for the top manufacturers. i have seen a few posts here where aero made a minor mistake, and aero does correct them, but those posts are never upset, always with the understanding that these things do happen. and that's been at...
i understand. but as 'made in japan' used to be subpar in the 60s, and 'made in china' is now breaking that stereotype in some areas, 'made in pakistan' suggests a stigma, not necessarily intended.
i certainly don't knock u.s. manufacturers, but i guess between the both of us we show that there...
thanks meta...i think i know what you mean. it's not a replica of a classic pattern.
still, what attracted me to it were the classic lines. the main shell is really a luftwaffe style in the front, but it goes modern with having a windflap in front, and the cafe racer collar (upright). in the...
what's a pakistani jacket
funny you should say that.
i had a strong bias about current issue military jackets being made in the u.s. from my mil jacket collecting.
i carried that into my first purchases of motorcycle jackets, buying from the top makers of motorcycle apparel in the u.s...
[note: sorry about the typo, obviously should be milwaukee :(]
just got this today and it's about as good as it gets. below are links to the youtube video on it, plus a link to amazon.com:

yes, now that i check what you said, you were talking about clothing, but not necessarily leather clothing...i do have photoshop, and so blew up my photos biG of authentic luftwaffe jackets, black and brown, and didn't see any thread that was any other color than the leather itself...until...
living color
just looked at my eastman luftwaffer...thread is exactly the same color as the leather in the horse leather black, which is really a very charcoal gray...so it's at least not darker than the leather, so whilst not any lighter, it does do a respectable job of imitating the original...
have a lot of pix of authentic ones, don't see any stitching that looks different than the jacket...seems it would give it an unGodly 70s disco stitch look...i wouldn't do it
ORLan is correct, this is a nice lean jacket and you should go 44, it is also nice size in the shoulders, so should work for you ragnar...i doubt you'll need to tailor it, especially with turtlenecks...DEFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFinitely don't go (ig)noblehouse...they simply make a $100 jacket, and...
wow, eastman should put me on the payroll...but not really, he deserves the word of mouth...you should love the jacket. i see these posts about other companies making luftwaffe jacks, such as noble house, and really, people don't have any idea that there is a categorical qualitative difference...
i love you mannn
have to say i do love this forum, especially when i've been off it for awhilst
smithy shows the fascinating oblique bits of information that add so much to what our main themes are about...where else can you find this kind of info added in at the right time to enlighten a...
the great escape
looks like you're tracking down steve mcqueen in the great escape in those top pix
wunderbar pictures! truly gives people an idea how great this jacket looks. mine fits like yours did in the top pix...since i gave up motorbikes after causing $1000 of damage to a new german...
that German look
edward, i was talking about the german fliers, not the usaac (usaircorps), which when photos of the period are examined, the fits are surprisingly varied (as you astutely point out) as i found out on one fedlounge post that had a voluminous number of shots of ww2 u.s. fliers...
der horseWaffe
legumeJacket (peacoat for the unitiated) was kind enough to alert me to a question about my own size 46 eastman luftwaffe jacket (thanks 'p')
the answer for chris is that the collar is not big and flappy at all like some of the real luftwaffe jacket collars, but nice and normal...
did not want to sell this, but it's a bit snugger than i like so i can keep it unworn for just so long. the title tells it all...flight apparel industries supplied A-2s and G-1s, but stopped in 1986 when the owner of the company died in a mid-air collision at the Hammonton airport. his jackets...
alas, it's sold. you might still be interested in the g-2 still up for sale on ebay. one bid, and still able to be purchased with buyitnow...basically the same size as this one was>>>
