All offices are different, I suppose. I've spent my career in management consulting and in banking in the US. Took my new Akubra Campdraft (from the EA sale) on the open road - here we are waiting on a connection at DTW. I tried a couple fedora bashes on this last night but I prefer a cattleman bash on this hat. -
Can a black suit go with a grey Fedora?
It's aesthetic. A black suit is inappropriate for business wear (navy, charcoal, and mid-gray should make up your business wardrobe), and the high contrast is not flattering in daylight - it washes out your complexion. Also, invariably, they look cheap.- Bjorn240

I'd have two general rules: 1) A gray hat goes with any suit that isn't a warm brown tone. 2) Never wear a black suit, unless it's a dinner suit, and it's after 6pm.- Bjorn240

Yeah the tunic looks like a M1912 dress tunic. The hats were m1911 campaign hats. Leggings on the gentleman on the right look like M1910 leggings.- Bjorn240

No, me neither! But maybe I can work "up" to it. I do love the photo because it shows such varied creases and, it being 1913, you'd have to assume that most of these boys got the hats ex-Army and that they'd have had these creases when they got them. I doubt they were going to the store... -

Just placed an order for a M1911-based Campaign Hat from Mike at Northwest Hatters. It will be based on the dimensions of the Spec. 1145 (Jan 2, 1912), but will incorporate the improvements of the Spec. 1177 (April 10, 1913), so in short: - 100% Beaver in a Pecan dress felt - 5 1/2" crown - 3"...
