    Lost art of proper relaxation

I went bass fishing for about 40 minutes this morning before work. I was wearing wool pants, a shirt, a wool tie, a cardigan, a tweed jacket, and a Barbour jacket on top. I did swap work shoes for Russell Moc boots, but I don't see why you couldn't comfortably fish in what these gentlemen are...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

It's a mid-brown. I think the white balance in the photo tends toward the red. I blame Apple. :)

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Another Sunday. Another dog walk before church. Very windy so the Dobbs stingy won out. Have a lovely day, gents.

    D-pocket jackets with left handwarmer

Commuting to work each day, simultaneous clutch-up wheelieing while hitting shuffle on my iPhone barely alleviates the boredom. Can't live forever. :)

    D-pocket jackets with left handwarmer

No, those bikes still had the throttle on the right. Many were right-shift, left-foot brake, but the throttle has been on the right since well, ever. The reason that the slanted pocket on Internationals is where it is, is that in ISDT/ISDE/Enduro, when they used time cards, you had to stop at...

    D-pocket jackets with left handwarmer

Yes, but Napoleon pockets on motorcycle jackets should be on the right hand breast, so you can operate them with your left (non-throttle) hand. The Sears/Hercules on here works fine too, since you can just dip your left hand into the pocket, but (only) a right hand-specific pocket on a...

    D-pocket jackets with left handwarmer

An outer chest pocket with a vertical zip. It's called a Napoleon pocket because it is reminiscent of the famous Jacques-Louis David painting "Napoleon in his Study" where Napoleon is pictured with his hand inside his waistcoat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hand-in-waistcoat

    D-pocket jackets with left handwarmer

Yes, about 400 miles per week. I'd struggle to ask the missus to ride pillion to work just so she could reach into a poorly designed pocket for me. She has her own business to run after all. Point being, these d-pockets look cool, but for actually riding, a right-side napoleon pocket is...

    D-pocket jackets with left handwarmer

If you're stopped, it doesn't matter at all - you can snick up to neutral, or cover the rear brake, and use either hand. But should you need something from a chest pocket while in motion, it's surely easier to take the left hand off the bars.

    Scouting anyone?

I'm the Cubmaster of Pack 2 in Chappaqua, NY. 54 boys in the pack this year, and we're one of three packs in town. This was last weekend at our local scout reservation. Not the biggest fish, but it got the boys enthusiastic, as it proved there were fish down there somewhere! I didn't tell...
