I agree that the "do no harm" should be a priority for vintage leather, but conditioning leather with the "correct" conditioner for its age and leather type can definitely have benefits. Figuring out what that "correct" conditioner is a source of much debate and really just depends on a lot of...
No experiences with the product, but I did locate the following SDS datasheet. Listed hazardous ingredients are glutaraldehyde and 2-Butoxyethanol. Glutaraldehyde is a disinfectant, and 2-Butoxyethanol is a common solvent in cleaning products. I think this is unlikely to be the only active...
Electric Leather Studio - Twist. I really need to stop browsing Buyee, lol.
[Edit] - Got the name of the model wrong initially. "Leaf" makes more sense than "Twist", but whatever!
Some pictures of my brown cowhide Californian. 1960s according to the ebay listing. Slightly large in the chest I think, but I think it's an acceptable fit. Leather is pretty interesting - it has a pungent cinnamon-spice smell to it, and the leather underneath the dark brown finish is eggplant...
Wow. If it really is 18" in the shoulders, I'm glad Kubatu snagged it before I talked myself into it. Congrats @Kubatu, hope that jacket works for you.
Interesting jacket, but weird combination of measurements. Based on the picture they may have gotten the shoulder measurement wrong, but were sort of close with the Pit-Pit? I would estimate the p-p is more like 19 to 19.5 inches, and the shoulders are 17 inches. I'll have to think about this...
Bump. Quick update for measurements. I originally typed "18 inches" for the hem. This is incorrect, and is pretty apparent from the measurement pictures. The correct measurements are as follows:
Chest (Pit-Pit): 18
Front (collar-hem): 20
Sleeve (shoulder seam-cuff): 25
Shoulders (seam-seam)...
Can confirm this works really well. A light leather conditioner, like Bick 4, seems to have the same effect. I was wearing a used Lost World's horsehide jacket today that was producing a cacophony of squeaking noises every time I moved. Wiping it down with a damp cloth, and applying a thin layer...
No problem man. There's no way to know really know the cost of fees unless you've gone through the process. There are really good deals to be had if you are willing to import from Japan. My experiences using Buyee have been very positive, and I think additional costs from fees should be the...

There's no way the ebay listing is comparable. You're getting upcharged nearly $300 dollars on the ebay link. Fees from proxy services like Buyee are actually quite reasonable. My purchase price on this recent jacket was $354.16, and I ended up...
It might be actually. Looks like that line is measuring from the middle of the sleeve hole to the other sleeve hole. I get similar results when I measure from that point. Definitely unconventional though.
