Frankly, there area lot of dumb people out there ready to call anything with a wide brim an Indy hat. So, forget the possible comments - they are irrelevant to the hat choice. In terms of those who know the difference, it it all in how you bash it. So, quite simply, the answer is a big YES...- Not-Bogart13

On straw; I agree about the "natural" color, but be aware that some factory hats have what I call "artificial natural" color. In other words, very yellow or very tan. I have found that the darker Akubra colors leech out slightly when wet (only when they are new, I think it's excess dye), but NOT on the level that your picture shows. I suppose that without the true crown and brim stats, we can't really be sure of the ribbon width, can we. But I would say slightly wider than the Indy hat ribbon. I don't know lignes from brick in the head, but the Indy ribbon is 1.5" wide. I do agree with Tony on the brim width...- Not-Bogart13
