I like the idea of olive shirt w a collar. Also, a Greek-based Hatter we mostly recommend could whip you up a piece you could wear forever. Might not get done that quickly.
Yes. It is amazing that the condition of so many old hats is this great. If that hat was turned into a work hat or was thrown away by the owner's kids, it would not be here for us to wear and enjoy. I'm sure you'll put that in your rotation and get good use out of it. It is a nice, casual color...
Yeah the Red Label is a slim hybrid I recall. The other offerings may give you a choice of slim or classic. The Neo cut suits are intriguing to me with wider lapels, open quarters in the front, and soft shoulders. Neo being Naples, Italy style I guess.
They dont look that bad to me. I'm used water stains on my boots in the snowy seasons... adds character. Items on the ground tend to wear out and get weathered more rapidly. If they were mine I might take a damp rag after them and polish a little bit later, but that's a risk u may not take.
Yes it is a great feeling to wear a quality garment with fabric and details you rarely come across. I BIN'd this Navy beauty not long ago. Just love it.
I ultimately have found I don't wear suits that often. Sometimes a good sportcoat brand or two that u like might show up on ebay and you could save a ton of dough. My Harry Rosen.
Those old sweats are built to last so stretching them is difficult, but not unheard of with a hat jack or stretcher. It can mess with the shape of the brim if done too strongly. We've all been there. Sometimes it works as u stretch more and more over time. Good luck.
On the other hand, if u go with a made to measure place like suitsupply, get someone like your close friend to measure you as you follow their measuring steps on their website. Fit is everything as they say so don't try it alone.
I bought a new Spier and Mackay. It was a 44L off the peg and the sleeves actually fit my long arms. They have $300 Red Label suits which are just fine, or others that are ascending in price. The Neo cut looks a little more unique. Most are softer shoulders and not so padded, but many choices.
I ordered another Agnoulita. I got a taller crown, thinner ribbon, contrasting ribbon and binding. So it will be set up more like a thin ribbon hat like Pic no. 2
Well, if that's a true vintage hat and it's from 1934, that's 90 years old. But no one can say without more info. It sure looks to be in minty fresh shape.
Two recent thrift acquisitions. I brushes the black '90s 4x and fitted a leather band on it. Old band was ugly red n black striped. The silver 5x is '80s I think and I totally reshaped it since the crown was so tall and looked a bit dated overall.
Bump. I got rid of all my fedoras maybe 8 years ago... kind of a lifestyle cleanse of things I held on to and didnt use. Anyway I ordered an Agnoulita, in transit currently, but I can already tell I'm not going wear it much. Similar to when I sold my collection mentioned earlier. I think their...
A wool, and not felt. No leather sweat. Cashing in on a TV series style. I don't know how far I'd test the crushable and water resistant qualities. I don't want to offend, but I would have saved my dough for any kind of felt with a leather sweat. Those wools wear out in hurry when used hard. I...
