What hat are you waiting for today?

That throws a little more light on your pursuit. I really like that hat you've fitted w a new contrasting ribbon. Some grays and browns and khakis go well together. Also true enough observations about common brown on brown hats. I understand where your coming from. I recently commissioned a...

What hat are you waiting for today?

Alright. This is my opinion as usual, and many will disagree to be sure. I think hat makers are still pumping out out brown hats with matching ribbons (or some black) because the ribbon material is all the contrast you really need. A cream panama w a brown ribbon would look fine. The other way...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

The hat shape, proportions, trend in color, and little black sweat scream '60s to my eye. Could it be 1950-'60? Maybe. Wear it well and keep stylin'. My long face doesn't support brims that stingy. My humble opinion.

    What Are You Reading

Just picked up Frankenstein at a thrift spot. Excited to read it sometime soon. Fairly interesting author backstory and circumstances that lead up to penning.

Looks good on the noggin. Nice color w your dark hair. Always thought of getting one, but couldn't find that color easily.

QUESTION ABOUT 3:10 TO YUMA BEN WADE HAT

Just discovered this maker, Agnoulita. If you need a custom western or hybrid for a good price, give him look-see. I can't believe the hats he's putting out for the price. He also seems to be improving more and more in recent years. My opinion. Hufvud is a really good one too. Willing to go back...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

An investment like that's gotta make you smile. Looks like a peach of a hat, and fits your proportions, imo. My Boot Barn straw is an imitation of a hat :).

    Terms Which Have Disappeared

I don't know. The latter seems to be a bad attempt at pronouncing a word you don't know how to sound out. Like niche is: neesh, not nitch.

Can you dye a grosgrain hat band?

I guess I prefer the brim snapped up in the back. Imo, I'm also not a fan of the razor sharp pinch.

What hat are you waiting for today?

Laugh if you must, but I'm done buying for the interim. I got 3 coming and my addiction is sated. I think it took 3 tries to reach the best maker, and felt and trim color combo. I not only got my feet wet, but I jumped all the way in. The maker said 2 to 3 months I recall, so it will be a while...

What hat are you waiting for today?

I almost went with a smokey lavender trim for the binding, but I didn't have 'true grit', as they say. I'm really excited to see and handle this 50X Emerald Gray felt.

What hat are you waiting for today?

Beauty. White coney must have been plentiful or farmed, but make a nice hat by the looks. I like the contrasting ribbon. It pops.

    Post New Hats Here!

Good noggin shot and looks '50s or early '60s to me, but I'm a lot younger than the Rat Pack.

What hat are you waiting for today?

Hufvud is all over my radar since I've been catching up on a few threads, so I ordered a 50X Bogie. The crown is the standard 4 3/4". Brim will be 2 7/8", not the normal 2 3/8". Sudan Brown binding, 6mm. The ribbon is a 1" Charcoal. So will look similar to this but with a thinner ribbon instead...

Ask a question, get an answer

I think any color fedora would be fine. Some people feel out of place in certain hats. I like to play peaky blinder sometimes.

I shouldn't have said "we". I speak for myself only. Also, I believe Irish linen is a little heavier and would be something I would look at before deciding on anything linen, which is prone to wrinkle badly. I now see by the pants you mentioned that you are going for cool and casual. By all...
