    Apparently the fit was right for someone in the early 1950s. I believe the jacket would have been custom made. People were shorter and wore high rise trousers.

    Early 1950s horsehide LAPD jacket by Cal Leathers. It's in fabulous overall condition. I love the steak-like leather, mouton cuffs, early Crown zipper, the heft of the green canvas pockets. Unfortunately, the waist is way too small for me. The overall length is also short. :(

    I’d like a mannequin, too, for the same use. For the best lighting, shoot outdoors. If not possible, find an indoor spot with the brightest natural light. Use every available light you have for auction photos. Can’t stand when sellers post blurry, dark, out-of-focus photos.

    ^^ Yep, Lesco immediately came to mind for me as well. An underrated brand. Lesco often sewed the tag into the zip-in lining. That’s why so many of them go unidentified by sellers, if the lining is missing.
