What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

I Know; it's sacrilege!! :p I really wish I could've figured out a different hat to put this ribbon on but it jibes so well with the color scheme of this Stratoliner. Let's just say this one's flying in Stealth Mode. ;) :D ------------ Oh, and Jimmy, yes it is vintage ribbon. It...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Well, I just checked in to see that it's a Stratoliner kind of week. I happened to be wearing mine today also - but I've made an addition to it. I got the ribbon shown below from a fellow Lounger (I'm pretty sure it was Buler) and it matches up pretty well on this hat. Don't worry, the...

What’s your favorite decade for hats, and why?

'40s, to me, were the epitome of style in every way. Not as ornate as previous times, yet not as minimalist as the decades to follow.

She's starting to come around a little! :D She says that Graham blocked this one in a way that makes it as good as one in this style can be. [huh] ---------------- I love that Vagabond, Rusty!

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

JP, that Borsalino has got to be older than 1998. I don't think that serial number thing works. Without inside shots there's no way to really judge the age as that style has been made by many manufacturers for several decades now. But I don't think $20 would have bought that much Borsalino in...

Congrats to your wife! And glad to learn she's getting into your hat wearing. She was a tough cookie to crumble but she obviously has good taste.

I like the way you operate Mr. P.! That Adam looks as good as some NOS ones I remember going for around $200 not long ago. Patience pays and you scored big on this. I'm happy for you. The OR is a beaut' too! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I agree. And I'm a guy who really likes messing with hats. Even Panamas. But this looks tricky to me.

Show or Tell your 'TOP TEN' Hats

Scott, that's one helluva nice selection. A Top Eleven is OK with me. No demerits being handed out for bending the rules in this thread. :D

    Dirty Montecristi

Those are pretty good photos but still it's difficult (for an amateur like me) to tell for sure what's going on there. Could be something called "foxing" where the straw turns brown in some places. Weird that it's all on the one side. I'd contact Graham at Optimo hats in Chicago...

    not snapping a brim?

I never snap 'em up. I always leave the brim down in front, ready to wear. No ill effects in years.

    Does crushable mean packable?

Yep. But if you are able, I recommend collapsing the crown into itself and then rolling it up like shown below. A little less traumatic to the hat than just wadding it up.
