more from Fox (i'm not getting commission, honest)...
i have a swatch of this and it's very nice.
19-20 oz 'soft grey twill' taken from their 1940s archive. called 'overcoat' weight but ignore that; it would make great odd trousers or jacket:
thanks !
no, pretty much a neutral grey. the photos are probably a bit warm / yellow.
the waistband on front, not on back is something i've copied from British 30s trousers.
nothing suspect about the paper labels. it seems to have been more of US than a European thing to do though. many of them are wonderfully designed and have amusing bits of info on.
the tiny label you mention reminds me of the card label i took off a Palm Beach tie which had a ton of info on...
before anyone says "NO they're original !!!" consider that the finish is too rough for bespoke, but not production-line enough for workwear.
still would look great as part of a 1930s ruffian / Apaches look, with flat cap, braces, black boots and tattoos IMHO. ;)
i wish ! caption said Russian, 1926.
...
this boot by Grenson / 'Foot the Coacher' is getting there shape-wise:
edit: oh, they've already been mentioned on page 28 of this thread..... sold out anyway. [huh]
nihil, if you're thinking of have a 30s-40s style shirt reproduced i would advise buying one off ebay, even if it doesn't fit perfectly, to examine the details.
they aren't hard to find in UK and Europe.
(the part you call 'box pleated buttoning' is usually called the 'placket')
