    Suits - Pre 1920

Damian, if you move the three close-set buttons higher and slim down the shoulders then i think you're on the way to the jazz suit. i didn't mean that this was the suit immediately prior to the jazz suit in chronological terms, but that you can see jazz suit DNA in there. what's a Rah Rah suit ?

maybe it's just the glasses, but his style has a very late 60's Michael Caine feel. i saw Nighy in London once and he definitely cut a dash.

    Modern Day Style Icons

although Nick Wooster wears many things that will be way too 'high fashion' for this crowd (he was men's fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman) i think he knows how to put an outfit together, and often brings a 'vintage' aesthetic to it.

you could nominate anyone from that book if you find their personal sense of style inspiring. most of them -for me- are too flamboyant.

Gentlemen, show us what you've made!

if you're in need of patterns then you can either take apart a moth-damaged garment and draw around it (as i did) or draft one from an old tailoring book. in either case, you'll probably need to fine tune the pattern to fit your own physique, as i've done with mine, or alter it to include the...
