As loud and flashy a 30's German suit can be. Pastelle pinkish fabric with blue and white/dark-brown Glencheck. Corozo buttons. Tailored by "Zapf" in Kassel, ca. 1932-1935. The photos speak for themselves... flamboyant to say the least. :D Unfortunately numerous moth-holes on the jacket... -

Haha. If so I'd channel suits that fit me. ;) I wished it fit me... the sleeves and legs can be let out to my measurements, but not the jacket length and shoulder width. Anyway, seriously I am sure if one is thorough in searching (or wasteful enough in his time :p), one can find good stuff... -

A terrible sounding recipe is the "Rotsiegel-Cocktail" from 1957. Rotsiegel is a famous German tie-maker and their ties are exquisite... their recipe for a drink probably not so much. They are called ¨Canadienne¨ (in Europe at least). In France they were big until the 1980s and many good specimen can be found. In N-America you will probably have best luck with looking for "Mackinaw" (a term used for many quite different types of coat).- Fastuni

The Red Kaps are also cotton. If you want "dressy" trousers for a sportcoat, look for woolen ones. Cotton is ok for casual summer wear... but you should get at least two pairs of wool trousers.
