Old Town have done a version called the Hemsby which has a dark stripe across the chest.
it resembles the thicker ones, though the collar isn't as deep.
...
yes, but the breeches of the late 1700s were a fashion garment. the breeches noted above are descendants of the type made specifically for riding, which are a different thing to the fashion garment.
some people also say that a plus four is a type of breech, so terminology can get confusing...
plus fours (knickerbockers) were worn by the man in the street in the early 20s, but i've seen no evidence that breeches were ever worn purely as a fashion garment in the same way.
in the U.S. catalogues you only see them as specifically for motorcycling or other outdoor activities. i welcome...
pre 20s accessories; club collars, narrow knit ties, straw boaters etc.
see the pre 20s suits thread for inspiration:

great ! reminds me of the cream nubby German sports jacket i sold which also had an elasticated back.
p.s. i always thought linen and flax were the same thing.
interesting... i wonder if that's because it's for 'stout' men ? it still appears that the rest of the buttons could easily be closed.
here's another wide-spaced-button jacket with all buttons fastened:
nice jacket. IMHO it needs to be worn with the right accessories of it's era, to get the best out of it.

... the jackets are being worn in virtually every buttoning...
an ex-girlfriend of mine had a men's polo shirt which i'm certain was 20s. it was in a slippery rayon jersey, very finely woven, not much texture, just a small rib.
wish i'd managed to claim it. [huh]
i was about to say "one for the British belt back thread" but it's not quite a belt... more like side adjusters.
would still like to find one in real life though.
