Wow Feltfan, thank you! I guess in my ignorance I assumed if the brim was 2 3/4 and the crown was 5 inches it would be 40's or before. I did not stop to think that they were making hats styled like this after the golden era. -

I think the wind trolley is fine, the exta string is the oringinal price tag. I asked him what tint it had. He said it had no brown or warm tint nor a blue or cool tint. He said Is was as neutral a gray as a gray could possibly be. Maybe it is because of the white longer fur in the grey felt? -

Formal Wear Primer
Infact it is perfectly acceptable . Just look at 20's or 30's movies and pictures of special events and you will see the the social elite many times wear white tie to black tie. -

Great picture! Sefton it looks great tilted that way!:eusa_clap I just got in a habbit of tilting it right there is no "right" angle to wear it. -

:offtopic: quite witty Yes I wear my hat tilted to the right. One day I switched to the left and was walking past Patrick James Menswear in San Diego and an old black man said" dats a bad brim baby but tilt that sucka to the right" From then on I have always worn my fedoras on the right. -
