You know what Topper? I love my 2 fedoras but I love a silk shag top hat even more and wear them around town too and the reaction is so positive.:eusa_clap I then again live in a small town wear people are more open minded and nicer then anywhere I've ever been.... St Helena, CA is the best... -

I am a littile confused. 5 9 is plenty tall to wear a 4 1/4 inch fedora so being 5 10-11 I bet you could wear something over 5 inches tall. What you are thinking of is the satin or silk non shag collabsible top hats that are worn with for white tie as they are meant to fit under the chair at an opera. You of course could wear beaver or a silk shag as well it just might not fit under a chair at an opera. For morning dress you are not... -
