Wow, what a dashing suit. This one-button peak-lapel style could have come right out of one of the Romanian photos. Easily the best all-black suit that I have seen so far. There is nothing wrong with either the shoulders or the color. Love the "pagoda"-shaped shoulders. Quintessentially 1930's... -

Thanks guys for the input. If the glue doesn't come out entirely, it will suffice if the soaked through stains are removed. The fabric is identical on both sides, so I could (worst case) turn the back. I will post photos tommorrow - maybe this will give another clue about the glue (excuse the... -

Yes, it is quite astonishing... altough there is no supression of the central seam, the suit has a perfect hourglass silhouette. All the magic is in the side seams and front darts. The cut of the jacket and the stripe-arrangement is very similar to another suit I have. -

Compare the stripes on the backs of these two suits. The DB has the typical arrangement of stripes running towards the nipped waist. THe SB has an straight alignment of the stripes running (almost) parallel to the center seam. -
