When and why did it become the thing to do to set your pant waist at your hips or near about?
The natural waist (today's hi-rise) is much more comfortable, more natural, and it looks fine. So why the change?
I never hear that term used as meaning anything other than and over protected and /or spoiled male offspring. Feminine actions on the part of a male, did not mean anything, in the context of the term. None the less, it was most definitely not a compliment. In my experience it was synonymous...
I had a beard from 1976 to 2015. I did not grow it from a sense of fashion but from laziness. I just got tired of shaving. Of course, the 70's and 80"s were (at least in New England) the era of the beard. Which mattered not one iota to me. Then one day (circa 2015) I went temporarily brain...
What is it about old cars? Modern cars are objectively probably better in every way. And, yet......yet....old cars hold our attention. Is it a sense of true style? A sense of romance of the open road when it was, at least in legend, still open.? A sense of the romance of the early 20th century...
Let me explain it this way. I was not clear before. My mustache just naturally grows in a pattern much like the Magnum 'stache. That being the case do I have any chance at all of grooming it to Gable style? Or is the pattern the hair grows just too different to be made to work.
What is the problem with the Magnum PI mustache? I had a beard from 1976 to 2015. i shaved it off twice and each time left the mustache and it was magnum-like. About a year ago I shaved to clean shaven. A few months ago I let the mustache grow back. It grew in and low and behold it was a...
I recently discovered the joy of"forgotten" authors. I have been reading Sapper (Bulldog Drummond - the 007 of the 20's) Earl Beggers (Charlie Chan), and no, they are not like the movies. and H Rider Haggard (King Solomons Mines is awesome. Last night I finished Scaramouche by Sabatini - long...
1) Hawaii 5-0 --------this takes the 1st five (The one with Peter Lord-you know-the good one)
6) Peter Gunn
7) Gunsmoke.....
8Dragnet.....who can forget it?
9) Bonanza
10) Star Trek............ok, it's not that good but imho if fit the show perfectly.
Been reading a lot of G K Chesterton lately. Never read him before. A tremendous writer. It feels like a conversation and not "writing". Especially I have been reading his essays, regarding politics and modern life (as it was 1900-1930). All I can say is, "the more things change, the more...
The oil was, um, not for me. Cremo is ok, but nothing to write home about. No better or worse than any other other shave cream of your choice. Back to Proraso soap, and soaping twice, once for each pass. I found out that no product will make up for bad technique.
