What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Sorry snow people. Another day in short sleeves and shorts all day here. I wish you'd send some of that snow here, I'd like to wear some of my big boy pants. It's actually warm enough here that I'm purposely leaving a size 8 cowboy hat in my car to shrink it down a bit. I'd love some cold...

Hat disaster, but all worked out

Pompidou - I feel your pain. Growing up, my family had five or six soda vending machines in conjunction with a restaurant we owned. Those machines put my dad through law school, and me through college, but they were a bear to load every day. They were in a city building, and you know how...

    Western, anyone?

Wow, thanks for enlightening me. I must have missed the dozens of other posts from all the years past stating the same interesting history lesson over and over again. If I include a smiley face icon, will that get the irony across better? I think the fog is getting thicker here. I didn't see...

    Western, anyone?

Not sure what your point is, was any Akubra not an Australian hat at some point?

    Modern Stetson Open Road

Still waiting for Miller Hats to get my "Open Door" in Silverbelly from Biltmore. I've heard some sketchy things about Miller Hats before, and I know they have a pretty ironclad policy of not giving refunds, but I'm losing patience. Since right at Christmas, they've been telling me "should be...

    Western, anyone?

Bowlerman's crease looks a lot like the way the Akubra Campdraft is styled on the sites that sell them. Lots of vendors show the CD in a telescope, with the brim either flat or turned down.
  14. frussell

Have any of you ever trimmed the brim...

I have a brim cutter from Hawkeye Tack and Western Wear in the 1/8" setting, and it works just great. About $53, and it's already paid for itself. I've cut seven or eight hats without changing the blade so far, with nary a false cut. I've used strap cutters, I like this better because it has...

    Akubra Campdraft

Randy - for me, Akubra's version of "Silverbelly" is sand-colored. Do you want something more brown?

    Post New Hats Here!

Robert, that hat really suits you. Absolutely perfect color and dimensions for you. Frank

    Akubra Campdraft

Yeah, I'd go for a moonstone Campdraft too. Don't care what quality felt, just as long as I could get a 63. Frank

Two size 7 3/4 Vintage Stingy Brims: Dobbs and Resistol

Triple bump - I really don't want to send these to eBay, I'd rather see someone here enjoy them. Trades of 7 3/4 or larger also entertained. Thanks, Frank.

Stetson Montgomery Western 6X size 7 3/4, unworn condition

This is a good looking, no longer offered western, you would pay much more for a comparable quality now. Thanks, Frank
