This was in the mail today. A Champ Featherweight with taupe felt, Kashmir Finish and in excellent condition. I'm pleased as punch!
The felt is noticeably finer than my other Champ... and lighter, too, so it's not just advertising jibber jabber when they say Featherweight and Kashmir Finish!
Sounds like a 60 to me at your measurement of 23.4" - 23.5". When you exchange, just tell them you need it to be a true 60cm. Panama hats can run a little tight, or a little loose. I tried on two L's at a small mall shop in Guayaquil recently... one was too tight and the other was just right...
Thanks, Roger! My plan was to have the brim trimmed down a bit, but now I'm thinking I'll just leave it be for awhile and see how I feel about it down the road.
Here's another shot in a nicer Hawaiian shirt as I got ready to run out and take care of bills, errands, etc, today.

I'm guessing maybe your measurement was off a bit. It's true that straw hats in general aren't an exact fit like a custom lid from a local hatter, but they should still fit your head. Not super tight, but not loose either. Try again with the measuring. Have someone help you so the string...
Thanks for the input! I was hoping it was pre-merger hat, but it does look like a nice hat in excellent condition.
Thanks also to @40Cal for the assist!
@Frunobulax , if your post was directed to me the answer is, I guess so... not super familiar with the seller but the crease on the Mallory...
Thanks, Red. Me too. This will be my first Mallory. Have heard good things, but couldn't remember what details set the pre- and post-Stetson hats apart from each other. I snagged a sweet Champ Featherweight before I flew to Ecuador, but asked the seller to wait until 7/8 to ship. When he...
I thought this thread would break page 7000 by the time I got back from Ecuador. Close; very close.
No idea what I'm going to wear this a.m. Lots of bills to pay and errands to run. Gotta ship a hat south today.
Maybe this semi-calado from a little shop along the river that runs through...
