Fantastic
Whatta honey! :eusa_clap
I had a prominent hatter swear up & down that they could squeeze no more than a size 7 out of that.
Bee-oo-tiffle.
What are the specs?
Damn good show! :thumb:
I may be wrong, but
[huh] I THINK that may just be a property of the cellular structure of the material. Composite cork is very uniform & homogeneous in appearance.
The Cork Store offers it for everything from clutch pads (I know?!?) to flooring to insulation to fabric et al..
Where...
Thanks MoK. There is precious little info out there.
I DO hope so.
So everyone agrees that it is not a Derby, but an open crowned fedora? The lining has me a bit anxious.
This is likely futile...but:
I have two vintage Borsalinos, (true) Punti 6 (7 3/8) that I would like to trade for some glaring deficits in my line-up.
First, the Borsos, both have felt so fine & supple they could take a different crease every day.
The featherweight, as thin & light as a...
Looks like a Stetson Weekender, dimensional brim and if you throw in some socks to get the total over $100- free shipping.
Code: MDB1755S at Sierra Trading Post
SCOTT & CO. Any info?
I had been watching this for a week & finally succumbed to my weakness.
Auctioned as a "Derby", it seems to pretty clearly be an open crown (looks unworn, or near) fedora/trilby.
Looks to be quite a thin, fine felt, looking at the brim's raw edge. Looks just as thin &...
It certainly looks to be & the size at 48 sounds right (big guy!).
I can't find the throat latch or sleeve buttons in any of the film stills, but the angle is wrong. [huh]
Yeah, they are morons. They had this ($400) Stetson listed as "Wool C Crown" until I inquired if they knew the difference.
They changed it to read "fur".
Would you? whatta ya' think? I think I might have to get one. I wonder how they do in the rain... real pith helmets are essentially the same thing, between two layers of linen, right?
Very curious.
French Linen Fedora
In my never ending, quixotic quest to find a cloth alternative to straws, I recently got this model. never heard of the company, but seemed pretty high-end when I looked 'em up. Anyone know of Anthony Peto of Paris & London? Got this from a great seller with the handle of...
Stetson Forty-Seven Foldable Hat 7 3/8
I CAN'T make this stuff work for me. At. all. Pictures tell the tale.
The brim is kinda wavy & please notice the mark I just found while photographing it on the right side of the brim.
If someone who knows shangtung can get ahold of this, get that...
Thanks MW, MoK, a very nice surprise indeed.
Although, not a thing behind the sweat ...
& this is as close to an image of the bow as I now have.
I suspect you are spot on as to the provenance, care to take a stab at the age?
When was mercury banned behind the "Iron Curtain"? Ever?
Gotta...
Sunk one from the 3 point zone!
Took a chance & submitted a muy low-ball offer on this, not expecting to get it & the seller, in The Czech Republic, accepted!
I was a bit anxious about what it might be, reasonably certain it wasn't a "Stenson" as stated in the auction.
Got it here yesterday...
Here is Mr. Tilley, out standing in his field. Doesn't he look happy?
Here is some pretty-boy being paid $300 an hour wearing the same hat. Ain't he purty?
This is the hat (photos swiped w/o permissions). It is a great hat,
