Turns out to be FF after all, very much a campaign type hat.
It occurred to me that if it once had a pug, it would've obscured the lowest vent grommet, eh?
I wonder if it once had a liner like the "vented" BR safari/bushman?
It is true, reading comprehension can be dismal.
I had noted the hats' size twice in my copy & in the description only to get "wat iz de size?" questions from sub literate mo-rons.

Unlike any other lid I have ever seen in BR. The inside label that reads "Made in Columbia" is very similar to some I have seen on Worth & Worth house brand hats, leading me to think this IS a fur felt.

So I got this Banana Republic Safari...
it has a creme pleated pug, I already have a couple of Zebra banded Dorians from SA, one from the old Abercrombie & Fitch and one from Willis & Geiser, also a Dobbs Safari w/ pug from A & F.
Now this seller seems pretty sure this is wool, tho' I see...
The minimal trim was cheap, the finish indifferent and sloppy, the weave was loose, the hat lacked much "body". Mostly; it simply was not a $150 panama, not close.
I finaly just made out "Railbird" on the sweat!
