I have Dav's thread saved for the photos. Is the longer coat in his "family portrait" of three jackets a Stockman, or one of the other longer coats like the Cheyenne? Still no other Teamster lovers out there with photos in their jackets? Thanks, Frank
Looks great buddy. I eyed that one for a long while, but couldn't justify it in the California desert. Glad it went to someone who can pull it off with style. Plus, I'm glad I'm not the only one who still hasn't taken down my Christmas decorations. Happy Holidays, Frank.
Any of you guys know the difference in back length between the Teamster and the Stockman, if they were the same size? I get what you're saying about the photos and the fit/length, but they are good for getting an idea on the details. I'm not particularly interested in wearing any jacket that...
I'd still love to see more Teamster photos, preferrably with folks wearing them. Trying to get a good idea if I made the right choice as far as length, as I've changed my Horse/Steer replacement from a LHB to a Teamster. Any photos would be appreciated while I endure the long wait. Thanks, Frank
The other side of what that guitar builder says about silicone is that not only will nothing stick to it, virtually nothing will ever penetrate it again. That includes any leather treatment you may want to use on your jacket, which may still get dry, since the silicone is only applied to one...
I like Pecard's, but for most things I've been using R.M. Williams Saddle Dressing for at least 25 years. It won't rot stitching (a big question with some of the "oils" I see recommended here), never over-penetrates or makes leather soggy, and even slightly waterproofs leather. If I remember...
Bob - If you haven't yet, get in touch with Holly. It took a while, but after sending many photos and the actual size and weight of my LHB, it was confirmed as steer by Ken. I am in the process of getting a replacement. I gathered from Holly that the replacements will be started after the...
A couple of pounds can mean a lot more when you wear a bigger size. My size 52 LHB, identified by Ken with photos and weight as steer and not horse, weighs in at 10 lbs. Not sure if it's all steer, or a hybrid, but it's a heavy mother. I've worked with steer and horse leather in the past...
Worf - not really concerned so much about my buttocks, I usually cover them with pants. Usually. I just know that with my build I look better in something with a bit more length. I've been wearing my poorly fitting LHB the last week or so because it finally got chilly here, and I'm definitely...
Anybody own both the Stockman and Long Half Belt from Aero? I'd like to see photos of both worn by the same person. I'm in the long queue for a steerhide-to-horse replacement, and I'm on the fence whether I should get another Long Half Belt or go for a Stockman in FQHH instead. Somewhere...
Glad to hear it. It's definitely a riding jacket, cut to give enough warmth or protection while in the saddle, but not long enough to get caught in your rope, over the horn, or over the cantle while working horseback. When seated, it should cover your belt. Great jacket, had many like it. Frank
I think you did fine, that's a great jacket. I misspoke about coats, the size chart only lists the back lengths for their vests. All that info is under the Customer Service tab, there's a size chart that pops up. I had a Mesquite that I loved, wore like iron, like the old Carhart stuff, but...
I'm 6'5" tall, and I have yet to get anything from Schaefer that was too short, unless it was a vest I didn't bother to look up on the size chart. It tells you how long the back of all outerwear runs, so there's no surprises. Also, as I said above, the folks are very helpful if you call. I...
I've had loads of their vests and coats as well, and my friend Red Steagall has his own line of ranchwear through them that is excellent (though none of his line comes in sizes big enough for me, like other items from the same company). I've put their outerwear through some nasty experiences...
Got an email from Holly about 1:30 Pacific this morning. Sounds like they are indeed slammed, and won't be working on any replacements until January. She was kind enough to say I could keep the jacket I have now until the replacement is made, but I don't really wear it, as the fit is poor...
Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd add a question to this one. Has anyone had any luck or good news about their return/exchange of jackets so far? I'm about 11 days or so since my last reply from Aero, haven't had any questions answered or emails returned since November 30...
