It sounds like you are describing a “hawk bill”. My Stratoliner’s had what you have described. I took a damp washcloth, an iron set on steam, and ironed the front of the brim. Even with the edge binding, I was able to achieve a brim like what you have pictured in your “stock” photo. Steven- 1967Cougar390
