I had the same experience a few months ago.
Carbohydrates in general produce gas when they're digested. Some of them are worse than others, and they can produce gas in different places. Beans will do it in the lower intestine; fruit does it high up. But wheat is really bad for causing bloat...
I wouldn't expect musical interpretation to be taught at a beginner level. It's about mechanics at that point, which is probably as it should be: you really need to learn fundamentals to start with. There's a lot that instructors have to pack into a one-hour class just to get students dancing at...
If you mean the last video I posted, it's a scene from the Cosby Show, Season 2, Episode 3. I see this can be rented at lovefilm.com. If you've never seen it, it's a classic episode from a terrific TV show.
My uncle was in the same boat. He was able to wear my Olay sunscreen without problems.
I like the idea of getting enough vitamin D, but this Colorado sun roasts me if I don't wear sunscreen.
I know what you mean about being technically good but lacking soul. There's a couple in the Denver scene whose dancing is, as a friend of mine put it, mechanical. I call it cold. I don't think they ever dance with other people. Although they've mastered mechanics, they've hit a plateau of a...
An example
Here's a video of some people not really dancing, but just moving to music. They have soul. They're having a good time. I bet you'll have a good time watching them.

Note that they don't just move their feet, but their hips, arms, chests...
Tonight at the Denver Lindy Exchange, I saw a dancer with super-concentrated soul. Of course, he had good mechanics and quite a few moves up his sleeve and interpreted the music well. But here are some things he did differently from other dancers:
* Sinking into the floor (see video in the next...
I've washed clothes on washer boards. How rough it is on the clothes depends on who's doing the laundry.
I think everybody who has commented in this thread washes their jeans.
I've never had Wranglers, but my experience with Levi's is that they shrink in hot water and a hot dryer. That's...
Back in the day, a lot of clothes were hand-washed and hung out to dry. Lots of people (like my parents) didn't have washers, dryers or the electricity to run them. I imagine they took good care of the few clothes they had.
The thing is, a lot of FLers would be cheering if someone wrote a snarky article about jeans, tennis shoes and polyester pants. I'm a diehard lover of all three, and see a good deal of bashing of them at the FL. How much does it bother me? On a scale of 1 to 10, about 0. Maybe being 41 years old...
I have the watch my father gave me for my 18th birthday: a white gold Lucien Picard that cost $60 at the pawn shop. I may not wear it much anymore, but I'd never part with it.
Young men keep growing into their early 20s. I noticed this when I worked at the Air Force Academy: the male freshmen's fitted jackets fit them normally; the seniors' were snug.
I second the motion to think of another gift, and let the birthday boy save and buy his own jacket. He might be...
