Seems to depend on the age of the person reacting. Older folks call me dapper, handsome, sharp, etc, which is nice. I was told I looked sharp while standing in line at the pharmacy today by an old lady.
However people my own age tend to treat my hats and suits like I'm wearing a costume or that...

Royal Biltmore today. Probably the best felt I've ever felt. 2 1/2 x 1 7/8 inch dimensionally cut brim. If only the crown were an inch or two taller, it'd be my favorite hat.
Suits are my go-to attire almost daily. Sometimes I go with a sweater or a bomber jacket when I'm feeling more casual. I've never been a fan of the tee shirt with fedora look.
