I just pulled mine out to weigh it. With the removable liner in place, it comes in at 9.5 lbs. This surprises me, as I recall it being heavy, but not that heavy. I think it's possibly my heaviest biker crosszip. Maybe I have a Langlitz that can rival it. My Natel cross-zip is close, at 8.5lbs.
You'll know when you get it. If you don't like it, you can easily sell it for what you paid, maybe more. It seems that they switched to less attractive leather after i bought mine, but I'm happy with the one they made for me.

I'm not entirely sure. The numbers on the lot tag are partially covered, but it looks like the model number is 665. They do not show this model on their website, and any search I try to do for "Schott 665" brings up their current P665 Asset model, which is an entirely different jacket.
I would draw the line at major alterations. It sounds like you may probably need to go a full size down, and that's not something I'd go to a tailor for. Aero don't use Connolly steer any longer, so that leaves you with few options.
