50s Penneys Marathon 7 1/8 w/box
If that really were a 3/8... Marathons are consistently some of the most beautifully formed hats out there. But normally any less that a 1/4 is a no-go for me. Any chance you could post measurements of the opening?- Guardian Enzo

Monterrey Hats? Thanks - I knew they were a manufacturer but I wasn't sure if they had a retail presence in Bogota (and I can't find a website if they do). Well - a bit of a tough question, I guess. So just to narrow it down a little - anyone heard of these guys? Their "Extra Fino" is only 256 wpsi but the price is pretty reasonable. They say a 30-day lead time for that but I could order it now and have them send it to the hotel for me.- Guardian Enzo

I'm no expert, but I know Bob at least is of the opinion that Colombia produces some excellent alternatives to Ecuador-made Panamas. How do folks react to your hat wearing?
I had a mixed day of it wearing my Daquino clear beaver today. At Narita airport a Japanese man said, "That's a very beautiful hat", which as you all know gives one an irrationally large burst of pride. But when I got to U.S. Immigration at LAX, the agent said "Please take off your cap."...- Guardian Enzo
