Do the hooks in fact catch on the inside of a your pants occasionally? What is the sizing like? How do they feel and what's the break in period like? How did you get them? Very nice!
HEEEEEY! These are excellent! I love your collection! A lot of stuff I am not familiar with but would love to be! Them-thar's living, huh?! :)
I don't know how I missed this thread before! I am definitely perplexed by some printings of books. Often they don't list the most recent pressing...
I agree with whoever it is that you are quoting!
Clifton's was also the main meeting place for Ray Bradbury, Forry Ackerman, Ray Harryhausen and TONS of early scientifiction fans all through the 1930's. The owner actually was a fan of the strange and unusual. So he literally fed the minds...
VERY nice!!! So how do you guys feel about the full Vibram sole versus the half sole? I find that the full sole creates a slightly higher stacked heel which I don't find as comfortable as the lower height heel. I was thinking of having them altered to half Vibram soles by White's.... Any...
Thanks for posting a close up of those buttons, that was the thing that stuck out to me! Very cool, weird detail! The issue of the suit fitting him or not doesn't matter. We can oogle all the great aspects of the creation regardless. It's not like we can convince him to give it over :p...
That's why I fiend after Colleen Moore! Keep your eyes peeled for HER WILD OAT. I saw it at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences/Mary Pickford Theatre on Vermont a few years ago... it was virtually lost for decades but since a screening or two has not be issued on dvd or screened on...
I'm not familiar with her... what's her story?!
Personally, I always preferred Colleen Moore over Louise Brooks. Or perhaps they are just opposite sides of the same coin. If so, I hope they never change. :p
I'm looking forward to seeing the Allen Edmonds Titanic dress boots! Hopefully updates will be posted soon since the initial post was from early in 2009.
I can believe it, although I have never seen that type of weave in a modern cap. I'm looking for see how it fits. I hope it's roomy and can sell the golden era vibe. :)
I've lost out on several ebay auctions for it, and was lucky enough to get it this time for about half of what it's gone for prior! I have some brown/green Fair Isles, I really like that this one & I think it will work more with a more blue/gray color scheme. Now I have all my bases covered...
How old do you think this is? Cross-hatched material looks old, but the lining looks possibly 60's or 70's..? I picked it up for about 15 bucks. Vat do you t'ink?
These guys virtually make house calls with countless fabric books on hand. I would prefer to see swatches when I'm placing an order in person. That is what everyone else in the room placing an order is doing.
Plus, I'm a little confused as to why the tailors would take the time to measure a...
Man a la Mancha! Those suede ones I would ruin from drooling on them every time I looked down lol
Leather Soul certainly isn't cheap but they cater to the right audience who can pay for the high quality produced. One would assume interests would cross over from the various fan-based...
I wonder if Leather Soul could do a FL-inspired shoe and/or boot with a spade sole. They seem to work with the people on Ask Andy & Style Forum: http://www.leathersoulhawaii.com/category/limited-edition/
