Right...So for now, I put the jackets with wool into large Ziplock bags and placed under the bed until it cools off. Yes, they make Ziplock bags that big, and I do it to keep the moths at bay. The N-1 and G-1 plus a tux are all in isolation until the sun takes a dive. Nothing like having to...
Got four jackets out and ready to roll. Weather in LA this week: 94ºf today and tomorrow, 90ºf yesterday.
They look good on the hangers though - but I did wear the '61/2/3 G-1 today. Broke out in a sweat, and that was at 630am in the grocery store.
I have three pairs if USA made Chip's. 2/3 are true to size, one is a tad small, and I have to wear light socks with them.
A rough out ankle boot. All are excellent boots for the money I think.
I think so too. But I had to laugh when I took them in to have the heels looked at - the people that own the shop (an old school place that makes me so happy) said "wow - these are HEAVY boots!". They are indeed substantial bits - and in size 13, quite the load.
Still my goto jeans as well. Can't try the Zim's as they don't make them big enough to accommodate the shrinkage for me, but I guess I could get a pair and never wash them like the real denim heads do :)
Got this CPW-45 Deadstock 80's Spiewak (Made in the USA) with blackened Scovill zips and you can see how short this sucker is - It's actually really awesome to drive in because of that, but short as hell.
This is no doubt why Diamond Dave decided to add length to this style of jackets.
This one...
To argue the "Seattle fit" (which I am glad for!) - work wear is indeed for working, but it's also current fashion, and as such, the 90's cuts of many older brands don't work for athletic or younger people who are still in good shape.
They carry both, so finding something that fits should be...
If you've ever shopped in their store, you'd know that you should either come fully prepared to not buy anything, or have your Gold AMEX handy. It's not for a faint of heart, but a lot of the gear is made here, and I support that as I can.
Same with Woolrich back in PA. But I almost always buy...
Polished up the Thorogood Portage Roofer "Monkey Boots" while watching some football.
It's like I'm going to the prom - very fancy, and I don't know what laces to choose. :)
And BTW, @Kasper brings up a good point - I have "Pre TSA" to run through the checkin process. If I have some boots...
Well, definitely to each his/her own on this one. But to go to the extreme on the last few comments, I'd never wear sneakers with a Tux, and I won't do that often with a $1k+ leather jacket either.
I'd wager that 99% of the people I pass on the street have no clue what my outfit cost me, and...
It's not like anyone is arguing (sans you) that a pair of Red Wings are likely a better pair of boots, but the delivery of your message leaves a lot to be desired in this fairly civil parlor. It's not really the kind of place where someone has to feel inadequate posting up a "lesser" <fill in...
"We". Weird? yeah. Fun? yeah. Wife just asked what I want for xmas. Let's see...D1 impractical, but there's a ton of others I do want that I can actually wear!
HAHA! It looks nice. I have the SoCal problem too, but when we go to places like Montana and Seattle and PA, it would be nice to have. Practical, no, but nice. Thanks @SpeedRcrX !
Yeah, I understand - wife has that issue too. She has to get really expensive shoes/boots but it's all good.
I agree with @Gav though - my Thorogood lace to toe roofers are the best, and I've got four pairs of them. Being able to adjust the fit is key for sure.
