Ah right I forgot, the beaver on the collar isn’t available on the C2. That might make my decision for me. I’ll call Vanson again in the morning to confirm a couple things.
I called Vanson this week. Can’t recall the name of the guy I spoke to. Gave him my dimensions and he sized me 44 for a C2, and 42 for an E.
I’ve got a Vanson Oxford (9D) in a 42 and it’s a great fit. P2P of 23.5.
I like both C2 and E, and could go either way. I think the C2 looks a bit better...
I'm kicking around a Vanson cross-zip for the bike. I've got a used Branded on the way but I'm a bit concerned the p2p will be a little tight. Regardless, I like the C2. Do you have a C2 or E?
Day 5 with my new Sheene and I’m losing the battle. My shoulders hurt, my elbows hurt, and I swear he’s laughing at me. I’m wondering if feeding him an apple will soften him up?
My wife calls him Mr Ed.
A fella in Vancouver BC. Original Leather Factory. He’s been around for a long time. Used to have a shop but now works out of his house. He makes this jacket with a standard collar, and with the Nero.
His leather is limited but if your ok with 1.2 or 1.3mm cow hide, then he’s good.
Edit- I...
I called Vanson this morning, gave them my particulars and they’d put me in a 44. I have a Vanson Oxford (9D) in a 42 and it’s pretty snug. They said the C2 will fit tighter across the chest than that hence the size up to 44.
And yes the C2 isn’t really generous in arm length.
Thanks for answering that personal question!
Im a 42 too.
I’m kicking around a new Vanson c2, or a used cross zip. Never had one before but I know I’ll like one. I do ride.
My shoulders are 19.5 and I’ve got long arms, usually need a 26.5 sleeve min. So a shoulder of 18.5 might leave me shy on...
I saw this on FB, texted Shawn. It’s premium goat but he said he’s got some thick steer in 1.5-1.6mm coming soon for his TFL friends. Smooth and grainy. Edit, both smooth and grainy
That’s a nice design, and looks very good on you. Classy!
I’m curious, did you supply the buttons? When Shawn was building my jacket last month he was adamant he could only supply a 19mm horn button in black. Given Pakistan is the biggest supplier of horn buttons in the world, I found that...
A new mid-weight leather Thurston Bros are now offering is Dark Hickory Vancouver. The pic of the sample below illustrates dark hickory on the left, and chestnut Vancouver on the right.
I don’t know if they’ve made any jackets yet, but oh man, check that grain out. I’m seriously considering this...
size 42. It was a snug fit. Bought the jacket a year ago and its finally loosened up. Fits great now. I don't have the snap in liner. If I did, I could easily have sized up to a 44.
