That is a very nice looking boot. It appears to be half sole, not full like the 7500 so a bit more comfy initially. That leather will break in and develop nicely. A good price too. Can't go wrong with any of your options.
I have Wesco engineers, models 7500 in English tan, in 10D and the Mr Lou 7600 in brown horsehide in 9.5E. The 7500 are a full sole boot with very stiff leather therefore take longer to break in but when they do, they're great. I posted a pic in this thread recently. The Mr Lou's have a half...
@Hh121 Measurements the same. The only difference is the new jacket has the arm seam a little lower down the arm, and newer leather.
Curious, I went and tried my Vanson Oxford Whidbey on which I consider a near perfect fit, albeit snug. It’s heavy cowhide. Can’t layer much, if at all. Lifted my...
Very nice. I’ve spec’d a front drop of 2” with my 5* on order and looking at yours, glad I did. What leather is that, CXL cowhide, in natural?
Mind me asking where you sourced the leather?
Wesco 7500’s in English Tan. This is after 6 months of wear. Took me a while to break in, now they’re perfect. I have the Wesco Mr Lou’s in HH too but I prefer these.
Is there a consensus to the best material to line the 5* jackets in? I just told Shawn cotton drill for the body and silk for the sleeves. Didn't get more detailed than that. I know he hasn't even started the pattern yet, so I can update my specs.
I'm not asking for colour choices here, more on...
Thanks for the reply @dlite90. Looks like 5* did a great job. I like that colour too. I've read a number of complaints about creasing from packaging. I wonder if using an iron with a very thick wet towel over the leather, very carefully, would get rid of that? Or just a hot wet towel applied to...
Here is my Technics SP-10. I bought it 15 years or so ago, but it was used in a radio station somewhere in British Columbia in the 70's. I designed and had a carpenter build a double tonearm plinth out of multiple layers of baltic birch. Rosewood for the tonearms. It was a fun project.
Ha, I hear you. I got into motorcycles 15 years ago, ended up with 6. Got into vintage stereo, ended up with amps and receivers stacked everywhere. Got into guitars....well you know how that ended. Addictions can be all consuming.
When I think of suede jackets I always think back to late 60's and early 70's, patch pockets....2-3....nice big collars, buttons not zips, and length falling over the hips. My older brother had one, that everyone went crazy for. And of course it was stolen. If I was going to design a suede...
