Finally got photos of my 50s Sierra Sportswear jacket. Overall fits me well, though it oddly pinches in the arm pits and the shoulders were hung improperly so that's quite annoying.
Another aspect of many vintage jackets I'm loving is the minimal or nonexistant front drop. Being a shorter guy...
I've tried on the iron heart one and it feels itchier than my fully alpaca Freewheelers. I think the buzz ones are generally thought of as itchiest. But the iron heart sleeves might be most comfortable for you if you're sensitive as they're not lined with that sheeps wool/alpaca blend. I...
@58panheadfan good to know about the Chinese fakes. I figured that rumor about them making in China was false. This may be the source of it. Definitely hope they sue them.
The Nitta HH looks great. If I could find a pattern from them that works I'd like to try it out.
The fact that Freewheelers has actual alpaca in the sleeves and the flannel layer means this is not guaranteed as you think. I'm not saying it is or it isn't, just that your assumption isn't including all the information. Plus, that pricing is ridiculous and you can get them for a heck of a lot...
Don't buy it from them. If you buy direct from japan it's amazingly more affordable, especially if you can find away around the import taxes in Europe. You can get them for around 1200 yen which is roughly 800usd. Basically in line with other higher end n1 jackets.
Yup! That'd why I made sure to say "plain" leather jackets. That part is important.

I see motorcycle club members, including outlaw...
The only thing that looks "wrong" to me is the sleeves being long. It's a big jacket and shouldn't fit super tight IMO.
The sleeves are long, but otherwise it looks decent. Not the most flattering, but not oversized either.
Thanks for the honest feedback everyone. I probably am going to sell the Californian. I like how it looks for the most part zipped up, but for me, a jacket that looks so big unzipped is basically useless to me.
