I have limited knowledge of Resistol's, so take this with a grain of salt. I figured one of the experts would have chimed in by now. Stetson hat
Probably late 70's into the 80's. Made before they switched to a dual metric/US sizing. Also, it's stamped 3X 'Beaver' which means it has 'some' beaver in the felt whereas the current 3X does not. It's a decent entry level hat in good shape. Couldn't make out the stain you were speaking of but...
