I agree; I’m just saying that when presented with the WIP jacket, he should have pushed back with the changes. (I did this after something wasn’t as specced and they agreed to fix it.) Since OP is UK based at least this can be rather immediately sorted without customs hassle and the like.

No you’re missing the actual #2 (before yours) which is about the Schott 641 being his dream jacket. And in the fashion jacket thread he said he chose it because a used 641 is too expensive.
Then in this one he’s dunking on his dad for buying that for him.
We were all genuinely happy for this guy when he got his fashion jacket; jacket nerdery isn't for everyone after all.
But now that he's changed it to being an asshole to his dad for buying him a great gift (so much so that he now wants to monitor his dad's shopping choices in general) I don't...
Mostly though it seems quite dickish that the guy's dad got him the exact jacket he had made a thread about wanting, the jacket itself seems to be in excellent condition, and yet he seems pissed at his dad because it exhibits the characteristics of real leather which his natural pleather does not.
As the post you're quoting says, it's usually and typically the case, not always.
Likewise you'll see "genuine horsehide" or "genuine cowhide" on some vintage jackets of high quality. But the language shifted away from that relatively early on.
Technically all the jackets we like here are...
I don’t mind it aesthetically but on the days I wear the Apple Watch instead of a mechanical it gets caught on them. Otherwise, no issue and like you I enjoy seeing the leather fully.
Still that doesn’t seem to be what he wanted so it should be an easy fix for Sam and Greg.
The new comp weight is stunning. There seem to be two versions, both beautiful. Nice grainy hides and some of them are brown at the core (but vintage type, not fast fade "tea core" crap).
IMO you should have refused the jacket at this stage. I don't think what happened is acceptable but the fact that you were presented with the mistake and didn't push back doesn't help. At least you're UK based so you can post it back pretty cheaply and quickly. I had an issue with my jacket and...
Off the rack pricing is in Vanson territory.
Price will go up with a special/limited leather like Shinki, CXL, etc or doing a full custom pattern.
There's a good and bad version of hip flare. The good kind helps bring an hourglass to she shape as you get with a suit jacket. For half belts you...
We can safely assume it's the Aero MC jacket pattern, which has a huge chest and massive drop, so the chest will be big, the waist narrow. Make sure to check the hem measurement. I could see it fitting you nicely.
(As an aside: I was annoyingly misled by a dealer into not getting that deep V...
1. Leather/canvas/denim jackets, yes. Overcoats, no.
2. Your tailor can advise better, but I think lining a bespoke coat with wool is a bad idea. A rich viscose is going to contribute to the drape of the garment, minimize friction, etc. Having a worsted lining won't do any of that. I don't...
Just a note for those who weren't around then:
While SB runs a couple of sizes larger than tagged now, in their early days it was the opposite. So this 36 is likely a 32 or 34.
I find these vests interesting and see them pretty often on people in real life (far more often than I see jackets), but I'm not sure I get the purpose. I am genuinely curious though.
