I have two LW jackets in my collection at present: Buco Racer and Ryder. I've had two others, a Raider and another Ryder, in a smaller size.
The Raider and the smaller Ryder were done in goatskin and in their midweight HH, respectively. I wouldn't call either of those heavy, although they...
I took delivery on my latest, Aero Thunder Bay, a couple weeks ago.
I ordered as follows:
* Size 42
* Black CXLSH
* Olive stitching
* Rust mouton collar
* Left inside pocket
On unboxing, I was surprised at two things, which gave me some concern:
* the CXLSH they used is pretty lightweight.
*...
The Model B is a great pattern. I have two, one horse and one comp weight. Of the two, I actually prefer the comp weight over the horse, so I might be selling the horse one in the near future. I also like the Oxford, or "9D" as it's sometimes known, which is a B with a dress collar instead of...
I know. You have a legitimate grievance, and you did nothing wrong. This isn't your fault.
But all that said, with buyer protection, you would have had some leverage to compel zot to provide a solution. That's all I'm saying.
Even though we're all friendly and gentlemen here (for the most...
There's a difference between:
* a full scam artist, someone who doesn't even have the item in question, and just cons you out of your money,
* someone selling fake items (perhaps unaware)
* someone who over-represents and under-delivers consistently
* someone who overlooked an issue that...
I'm pretty sure I bought at least one jacket from him, but I can't recall for sure. He certainly has/had quite a collection.
If I did buy something from him, I didn't have any problems.
I think it's understandable if once in a great while a dispute comes up over a missed detail, although in...
Some CPO shirts do have handwarmer pockets, although the examples I've discussed here all do not. It's a matter of preference, but if you do wear it as an outer garment, it's more practical if they have handwarmer pockets. If you wear them as a shirt under an outer coat, they're not really...
I would figure in about $250 to replace the liner, but that's just a wild guess. You might want to write to Stu to see what he would charge for a full replacement lining. It could be that it's repairable without a full replacement, which could be considerably less. You can always just wear it...
Are you sure you want to mess with it? What problem are you trying to solve? I don't find it is overly large, and it does keep the wind out when zipped up.
The patch is a little bit of a bummer. It's a fine specimen even with it. I'd probably remove it and not worry about the stitch holes, hoping that the area under the patch has comparable wear and patina to the rest.
I can confirm that Lesco has used side laces on some of their cross-zips, as well.
I don't know enough about Branded to rule it out, but if I was to guess I'd have to go with Lesco.
Here's one on ebay right now, with intact label :

I think it matches...
I've seen the plaid pocket bags on a Lesco before. The other details like the kidney panel and the shape of the epaulets are what made me think that's what it was.
