Quite right. Aero uses an inconsistent sizing system:
Premier Line: fits one size down
1930 patterns: TTS
1950 patterns: fits one size up
Part of the magic, right?! ;)
Sorry to hear that. You are not alone (as you can see from some light browsing here). Universal is a good compromise; it´s less fiddly than the other 5´s on Aero´s playlist, and I never had one fail on me.
As @TartuWolf said, if you plan to replace locally down the road, a No. 8 or 10 (which...
Well, your Aero is a textbook example of patina, I would say…
I am afraid, LW horse will stay superblack no matter what. It will crease and grain (at least the hides post 2015 or so), but it will stay black. Vanson Comp Weight would be another example of a pretty chunky hide that doesn’t fade...
Nice jacket, good outfit.
As to LostWorlds, one word re managing your expectations. The jackets by and large are far less heavy than Stu tries to make you believe, especially compared to the heavier examples of Aero‘s CXL HH.
LW jackets are great in their own right, and the hides are perhaps...
This.
I would go for T-Shirts and plain jumpers without any (additional) frills. The pants are standing out, so any more distractions to the eye would simply be too much.
Yes, it is pretty awesome. I do also like the earlier iteration in unfinished natural horse. I don’t buy into the hype with the waxed canvas versions, although I am sure it’s a perfectly fine jacket. The new leather ones in goat are not for me. I’d rather try to bribe TJ from The Shop Vancouver...
Slightly different opinion here.
Yes, it’s too small. But the jacket itself is really cool und suits you well. One size up and you have an absolute stunner!
So you picked one up. Super!
I didn’t take the plunge. Price is high, and the pix on the website don’t do it justice. Glad it’s a stunner in real life!
I second this.
I also have to pairs in the 79 last (Java waxed flesh and shrunken bison). Quality is good for the price. You will find criticism on their QC, but that’s always, “heard it from a friend”.
Sizing is maybe half a size more generous than RW Iron Ranger/Blacksmith. I picked the...
I don‘t much mind having to wait for an MTO order. If I decide I want something, I will want it in three, six, twelve months too.
If a maker gives me an approximate delivery date, I take it as a guesstimate at best. We are talking small and tiny outfits here, where so much can go wrong: staff...
If you don’t want a “war” over certain absurd discussions, don’t always start one.
For you, everything you don’t personally like seems to be a “scam”, a “fraud” and “has clearly been proven” to be this and that. You may want to go back to your positions on Japanese makers, wearers of them...
Both great jackets, the Don and the Bronx. Nice, subtle patches on the later, too. No reason not to wear all the time. No one will mistake that for biker colors.
Special kudos for maintaining your shape over 20 years. Both jackets still fit to perfection.
It does look great. Which by experience means it probably is a hair to small.
You know like Daniel Craig wears a full size down in all jackets/suits in his James Bond movies for the “hero shots” (i.e. when he’s more or less static as opposed to scenes where he actually has to move, run, fight)...
Not really Aero‘s fault, IMO.
Aero is famous for its heavy CXL leathers. The only place to get it in Europe really (SB used to be ‘the other one’, but they withdrew from CXL too).
A lot of customers don’t seem to be happy with the properties of CXL leather, as evidenced in this thread as well...
