I have it in storage as I only wear the less noisy Enfield instead these days. Can sell it but will not be able to take measurements for another week orso
A book seems like a great conclusion to a long-lived hobby and a valuable record of otherwise to be forgotten times, styles and knowledge.
I am not selling you any jackets but I do still have a late 40s hip-length Windward somewhere that I can gift you at cost of shipping to include in your...
The mere thought of receiving a 3000 USD jacket with stitching like that is so absurd I cannot help but laugh. If this joke was played on me, I would have instantly returned it and sued for my money if necessary. Now that you have kept it for months, you are in a tricky spot, feeling bad for...
Not to get your hopes down, but I don‘t think a wool coat made by an unknown Eastern European maker will sell for much. The repro stuff fanclub is mostly about american brands and styles and very focused on a very few popular brands of that era. @tweedydon every now and then sells vintage...
Very european design. Collar and button holes give off very rural vibes, I wouldn‘t disagree with hunting jacket. In fact it shares a lot of design elements with classic Bavarian „Trachten-Lederjacken/Janker“ as well which again are very rural in design, even though made mostly in suede.
I have been around for a while and I have seen only very few who actually went the miles in an Aero jacket to be able to claim some kind of life-time bond with a jacket. That being said, has anyone seen @Dav around lately? His truly worn in Highwayman was a big inspiration for me to buy my first...
It‘s your call whether you listen to more experienced players in the field or disregard their opinions as personal attacks, I guess. Anyway, if you want a cross zip, buy a Schott 618, it is a three times better jacket than any cross zip SB will bake you.
Well, this escalated quickly..
this thread took a most amusing turn from praised work to general shit-talk, Simmons Bilt buyer advice and the latest about someones 5 year queue at Goodwear :D
I have opened a Field Leathers thread and I ended up browsing Goodwears jackets.. I mean with so many...
Gravity. Next question! :D
It does not look bad though, does it? To me anyway, it fits in just right with the overall „carelessness“-flair of the style.
Yes, the hooch hauler is too big. I think you can get away with extra room in the BL because it is a roomier jacket by design, but the HH would just look odd with the slim sleeves and the too large tunnel body.
Just so I get this right.. you are looking for a fashionable hard-shell jacket that‘s wind resistant to wear on the bike…
so.. some other member here very recently discovered this new material called leather, maybe you can dm him and find out more about it.. :D
In all seriousness though...
My great-grandfather on my father‘s side served in WWII but whatever leather jacket he may have worn at the time, would for good reasons today only be socially acceptable in a Matrix movie, if at all. :D
(On a more serious note: he was no member of the party or particular interested in...
It‘s a decent fit but I would reduce sleeve length by a good inch and bodylength by 1 inch or even 2 inch if they can add a 1“ frontdrop (making it 2“ shorter in the back, 1“ in the front.).
On a second look, I‘m even thinking maybe 2“ less in the sleeves, seeing how it rests almost on the...
The Schott Peacoat is a very warm peacoat. 32 oz wool plus a quilted lining will bring you through any non-arctic winter. My brother owns one and he only brings it out at sub 0°C, not much layering required until -10°C. Is it warm enough to wear on a motorcycle in a warm country‘s winter for...
