Flipping jackets and the spirit of the lounge

There‘s nothing wrong with flipping in general. You want to run a side hustle making some money on the side buying and selling and committing some tax fraud along the way? Be my guest. This forum, however, is not ebay. It is a small community, small market place, no fees, payment by family and...

    Lost Worlds Deerskin J100 Sz50

Wrong. The Classified Rules pinned in this forum section explicitly allow people to post in others FS threads and also explicitly refer to cases in which sellers are trying to sell for what this community knows to be above market value. This new member has every right to post here, as well as...

    Lost Worlds Deerskin J100 Sz50

Posting the jacket Lando asked like 500 bucks for with a 1000 bucks upcharge, questionable in a small place like this where people know each other but fair game. Not owning up to it and coming up with cascades of eloquent yet shallow non-sense when being confronted about it? Quite absurd. :)...

    What is wrong with me?

It‘s easy. You are not buying these jackets because you are a man who is looking for a leather jacket to wear. You are buying them because you are a collector. We all are. The first jacket maybe was an actual enthusiastic „i need a leather jacket to wear“ purchase, everything going onwards…...

    Vanson Model B opinion

That man could have been happy if he had just stopped with a Vanson Enfield in the right size. I mean we all get sucked in at some point and spend and keep spending but most of us eventually slow down and learn to appreciate the stack of jackets we know own rather than to continue buying. I hope...

Is there too much grain on my new jacket?

Looks perfectly normal to me. Nothing I see there is a leather crack waiting to happen. Just uncorrected hide with its usual irregularities.

Is this Schott a keeper? (+ mini review)

Looking good! Somewhat boxy at the hem, but cross zips usually look somewhat like that when worn open, with stiff leather even more so. I agree it should look even better when broken in. As for the shiny leather finish, the pre owner may have conditioned and polished it, it‘s not necessarily...

Fit check on this leather jacket, please

Fit check on this leather jacket, please

Sleeve length looks fine but by the way you are posturing, it does not look very comfortable and too restrictive in the shoulder area. May get better with wear when the leather relaxes. May just as well not. Sizing up is no option though, jacket already wide at the bottom hem. Maybe the wrong...

Van Page Brown @HoosierDaddy, In Memoriam

My condolences to his family, in particular his son Adam, who looked after him these past years and whom Van was very proud of.

    Vanson Model F

The pockets are fine but I have an issue with the vertical seams on the front. Nothing wrong with them per se, they give the jacket very classic 70s vibes but I personally like my jackets cleaner, not much of a 70s person I guess.

    Simmons Bilt

There is an surcharge for leathers, up to 200 GBP for japanese hh. You find that info when you scroll further down. It‘s like 70 GBP for Horween stuff which is included at Aero, so effectively the Aero HWM and SB Roadster both set you back ~650 GBP + import costs. SB may have the edge for UK...

    Vanson Enfield vs Oxford

The Oxford is ever so slightly tighter in the same size but owning both patterns, I would argue it is pretty much the same jacket except for center seam at back and underarm gussets on the Oxford. Both jackets don‘t have a crazy taper through the body to give you that V-look and frankly they are...

Aero Bootlegger fit advice for new buy

My size 38 BL had 23+“ pit to pit, just in line with Tonys and Charles sizing observations. Unless they changed the sizing, a 42 should have 25.5“ ptp. I also agree with MrProper, if you feel restricted in the shoulders even though they are sufficiently wide in pictures, maybe just going wider...

Vanson C2RN “Renegade” thoughts? Any owners here?

The Renegade has 4,5“ ease of movement, which means a size 40 has 44.5“ chest/22.25“ pit to pit. That does for a relaxed fit with enough room to layer in your true size. If you wanted a snug t-shirt fit, you could probably size down. 2“ ease of movement is what very snug fitting jackets usually...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Quick snap of the Enfield in my office. Have worn it for like 5 hours total over the past few days, it‘s showing nice creasing on the sleeves already. Much easier to break in than I initially assumed with how thick and stiff the hide was. Absolutely looking forward to further breaking it in.
