Wow. The resurrecting of this thread sure brings back some memories of past Loungers that used to post all the time here on FL. I wonder what happened to all of them. Not meaning to dismiss ILB Frank's post, which is interesting, but seeing all these past Loungers again is good to see. -

Friday Fake Whippet day! This is a more recent vintage Melton that I converted a couple years back. I gave a little upturn to the bow work. If you can't find or afford a vintage Whippet, you gotta try and make your own version of one. -

I'm with you on Resistols. They're my favorites too, along with most others that are made by Byer / Rolnick. It's hard to beat those hats for quality. They're among the best made. Think of Bradford too, another fine hat by Byer / Rolnick. Same as a Resistol. Can't go wrong with Byer / Rolnick... -

Glen Ford, "Framed" (1947). With Janice Page, Barry Sullivan, and Edgar Buchanan. Not the top of the best of the film noirs but it's still up there and entertaining. -

Hat making?? Learning Millinery..
I sew all of my brim bindings by hand. Like Robert said, it takes a good level of patience and it's slow and back breaking work. Magnifying hobby glasses really help, and you have more control over where you put your stitches. With that said, I do have a nice sewing machine and if I was better... -
