Gray day with a decrease in cold
Marena Borsalino A.jpg

Today it is the turn of a Borsalino Qualità Extra Superiore sold in Denver-Colorado
Marena Borsalino 1.jpg
Its colour is "Amarena" and the hat type is "Gorasgu". It has a slightly fuzzy felt finish and is very soft.

I wore it to warm up the day, but it didn't do much on a day with the almost total absence of color

Thank you for your appreciation and congratulations to all of you who show me new and interesting hats every day

Was thinking I should give the big boy Resistol project hat one last trip outside as-is before I start playing with the brim curling tool and new concho hatband. Got the original Quicksilver band off last night and had to spend about an hour steaming and picking glue off the felt. ( Arrrgh! almost as irritating as getting an new otherwise nice hat in and finding a glued in liner) Did just a little brim flattening so it will lay flatter for the brim curler. Plan is to curl the brim and give it a bit more downward slope in front and back with a bit of upturn on the side. Hat wasnt terribly bad to start with, but its really cleaned up nicely. Threw one of my standby braided horsehair bands for this morning trip to the coffee shop

Its a really big hat for me and Im getting excited to play with the curling tool. Make the brim a bit shorter without cutting anything off. More to come soon!

A couple of fairly recent acquisitions from fellow loungers today, and both ones I am enjoying a lot.
First, aStratoliner for a visit to the post office.

Followed by a Barbisio for some shopping and a cheap sushi late lunch/early dinner.

Not sure how to describe this telescope crowned hat. The brim is 6.5cm. When I’m not wearing it, I’d almost call it a wide brimmed Pork Pie. But when I’m wearing it, the front to back stretch from my long oval head gives the brim an appealing curl that has a kind of western gambler feel to it. Despite the stretch, it doesn’t feel tight at all. Just a snug and very comfortable fit. The crown is 10cm, but feels bigger to me, perhaps because the telescope crown, not having pinches, seems quite substantial, and perhaps because the curl on the brim when I’m wearing it exaggerates the height. Either way, this hat is a pleasure to wear.

Etsuko wore one of her Akubra Leisure Time hats, but the photos didn’t get past quality control due to her strange expressions!
Edit: I recently made a comeback to Instagram. I only post hats there (I post other stuff on Facebook), and I try to pair each hat with music that has some connection to it. An Italian hat with a Western vibe…it had to be The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. This is my Spaghetti Western hat.
I don't usually care for pork pies, OR gamblers, but whatever you want to call it, that hat looks VERY VERY good on you. And Timmy's right: great pairing with the leather jacket.

Nice hats, Gary. I, too, have one of those hats that can't figure out whether it is a pork pie or a gambler. But, the 'old Steven's is a great, easy to wear hat in town or out on the farm.

The hat suits you very well

Thanks guys! I’m very happy with my Spaghetti Western hat.

The P&C Habig, actually it was Tina's choice. My house-husbandly chores have kept me rather busy, but I'm pleased to say that the lady's recovery continues, albeit slowly.
She treated me to lunch out yesterday, and over the meal showed me your photo Stefan. Did I like the hat and would it not go well with my striped blazer of similar hues? I've been told that Santa might be getting a letter.

Loving both of those, the Barbisio looks great with the jacket.
