Agreed, you're much better off riding with armour on. Speaking of which, if you were making a new suit and had to choose armour, would you choose any in particular between those mentionned? Or any would do?
LVMH is the best example as you mentioned, they go for "high volume luxury" which is a contradiction in itself. Unfortunately they have been very successful and bought so many brands.
Tell me about it lol
Currently working my way through to a better weight (yet again). This time I will need to be very vigilant not to go back up 6 months later...
Thanks for the context.
It makes sense for you to get the most value for your money, I would not call this being a cheapskate personally.
In the US, you are lucky to be able to buy such items without paying any customs, here in the UK it is cutthroat lol
Ah yes, I don't really know how that works either.
But then again we are talking about how a successful company in the Japanese denim world decides to distribute itself, not about a monopoly over their sector. As far as I am aware, there are many Japanese denim brands available for us to buy...
As far as I understand, Giles and Haraki quickly went beyond producers and distibutor to become partners. From a business perspective it is certainly better for them. They have better control of their brand and can avoid their image being diluted by the decisions of others.

Thanks for all the info! I did notice the pants breaking down significantly. It was initially quite restrictive, especially noticeable when climbing up stairs. But they softened up quickly, thanks to regular walks. Good to know, that making them trimmer will affect the range of motion -...
It has already been 3 years since the last post... time flies
Resurrecting this thread with red leather trousers seems valid enough lol
While it may sound outrageous as an idea, I found that they are easier to match than I thought… Or maybe it is just me?
Lighting kept changing...
It gives me more range of motion than the speed demon in a similar leather. Deer will definitely give you more flexibility, but it is not as good under the rain (not sure how it really holds up under the rain, the horse kept me completely in 3 hour ride under heavy rain)
I can do better, here are some pics of both
Here is the J24 if you are curious
The leathertogs A and B are my favourite on the motorbike, they give me the best range of motion
The suburban can easily become a daily wearer, it was my first LW jacket. The Sierra looks as easy to use and wear. They will both work well in deer. Which colour are you thinking to go with?
What type of jacket are you looking for?
The deerskin is softer and drapes better than HH. But on the other hand it is easier to scratch and not as water resistant.
In terms of durability, it really depends on how you use it, but if we are talking normal day to day activities, the jacket...
