Hi
I’m trying to get a mouton collar made for a cross zip jacket. I’m interested in how your Buco mouton collar is constructed. Would be amazing if you could post some pics of the underside of the mouton collar and where it’s connected to the jacket collar.
Thank you in advance
Hi guys
I’m about to commission a removable mouton collar for a straight zip with medium size collar.
I previously thought about replicating the construction of Shangri-La collar, as in pics attached.
I do recognize two short falls with this construction:
1) there are only 3 points to fix...
Hi guys
Thank you for your help above - it is appreciated.
Since I posted, I’ve actually sold my aero HWM, and bought (and subsequently sold) a Shangri-La Varenne with removable mouton collar. I took lots of pictures of the collar construction and the throat strap.
I’ve exchanged a few...
Thank you for the compliments!
I’ve seen that awl on YouTube and may well get one. I usually use two saddle needles to do saddle stitch.
The cut offs are amazing fabric. What I plan to do is - and I bet this will sound strange - is to sew inside pockets for my jiujitsu gi so I can store a gum...
Could some of the Vanson experts help me guestimate when was this jacket produced and which tannery is the HH from?
Still a little damp I worn it out for the first time tonight doing grocery shopping. The leather is so stiff I struggle to reach for my seatbelt behind the shoulder!
It weighs...
Thank you! You’re right despite of the large/wide back chair - this morning there are signs of bumped shoulders. I’ve spread it back as it’s still very damp and now wearing around the house, and getting laughed at by the kids!
After a lot of elbow grease to feed the jacket, clamp the collar and left in in a dry room on wide back chair, the collar appears now fixed and up wearing it (still damp) around the house today to speed up drying with body heat!
Leather looks and smells new the feed worked great!
Please kindly explain - I may be having a daft moment :). Would thought a chair, or on a wide hanger helps the inside (especially the sleeves) to dry faster to avoid mold setting in?
This Vanson Enfield in HH made its way from Taiwan 14 days ago and finally arrived in UK today! For a few days I’d thought it’d been lost in transit as parcel showed no tracking movement - phew!
Gave it a lukewarm wash in bathtub, lots of dirt came out… drip dried for 1hr then while still moist...
I’ve had this incredible jacket for a few months - I deep cleaned the leather of scruffs and marks, applied a layer of conditioner with white pigment, and a top coat of clear conditioner. I’ve worn it to all sorts of occasions and it surely turned heads!
Sadly, I have a strictly 3 jackets...
Thank you v much guys! That means it’s a keeper and one of my other jackets need to go!!
I couldn’t resist the temptation to soak/wash it in bathtub. It dries very fast and I’ll shortly give it a coating of conditioner.
Some teacore showing through as well!
