Hi All,
I'm a long time lurker and I post every now and again. I'm in Southern Arizona training for the Minn National Guard (I go to Iraq in April), and I was wondering if there is a good hat store in Tucson?
I'm thinking of buying a Fedora (of course). I have a really cool straw Stetson...
I like to adjust the seat in my car to make room for my hat.
When I drive the wife's minivan, no adjustment to the seat is necessary~ except for my legs. I have plenty of room in there to wear my hat.
+10
This is true in shaving brushes as well. Where different companies will have "pure" or "genuine" or "better" or "best", "badger," or "silver tip" or whatever.
I kind of like the "X" factor. It's kind-of-cool. The truth is out there......... lol
... sorry, I couldn't resist the...
I was a surveyor for the army from 1986 to 1989. It was the best job I ever had. I really wish I would have continued surveying and began a civilian career doing it!
I'm not so sure about this. I know lots of people back home, not too many hear in Minnesota, that actually wear a cowboy hat just because it's what they've always done.
When I was a child, I didn't wear one that often because my mom didn't want me to look like a "redneck." Well, a lot of my...
OMG
OMG, so you guys are Resistol, Stetson, and Dobbs? My grandfather always wore a Stetson. I wish I had a picture of him scanned so I could send it to you and ask you which one it was. I would like to buy the same cowboy hat. I may try to find his old picture in a few days and post it on...
Cool
Just read your posting HATCO. It's marketing 101. Very fascinating about all the types of fur and stuff.
I did service marketing for Tektronix Inc. for a few years, and we similar issues in the technology sector (lower priced imports vs our premium brand). It was mostly with...
cloth sweatband
I noticed when I bought the bush hat that it said it has a "cloth sweatband." I thought that was weird. I've only owned baseball hat that had a cloth sweatband. Is there an advantage to this over a leather sweatband for a Tin Cloth Bush Hat? [huh]
Tin Cloth Bush Hat
Hi All,
Well, I ended up getting the Tin Cloth Bush Hat from Filson. I really liked the packer, but the brim was 2-1/4 in. My most stingy hat is a Stetson with a 2.5 to 2-3/4 in brim. My wife pointed out that the 3in brim would keep more rain off my head.
I got it sent...
I must agree
I could not have said it better. GQ obviously wants to keep changing what they think is fashionable so that you buy more stuff from their advertisers.
:offtopic: Now, I hope I don't get in trouble saying this but, all those models in GQ (the guys anyway) look a little, well...
Names
Hmmmm,
My name is Brian and my wife is Nancy. Not too vintage. Our kids are Silas and Chloe. We named Chloe after my great-aunt Cleo. My wife thought Cleo was too old school, so we settled on Chloe.
I had (she died) an aunt Eleanor, an uncle Less, and an uncle Riley. My Mamaw name was...
What about this one?
Ok, this isn't the Akurba CEO, but it looks like a good rain hat. The problem is, where I live, the rain storm will come in and dump for 15 min. then move on.
So this hat may be overkill.

I could probably just keep it in my...
Any suggestions on who is a good vendor?
Also, I'm not sure of my head size. I'm in the army and my beret is a 7-1/4, my patrol cap is as 7-1/2, and my stetson dress hat is a 7-1/8. My Resistol cowboy hat is a 7-1/4 long oval, but it's a little large. I like the way my Stetson fits the best...
Wow, that is amazing. While you were posting this, I came across the Akubra CEO. It's such an interesting hat. Not quite a fedora, but not quite an outback type of hat. It seems to have lots of personality.
