Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but BBC4 in the UK has been showing a 4 part series called the Thirties in Colour. They are using rarely seen colour movies shot by travellers of the time to examine the events of that decade through their eyes. Some stunning images with all the more...
Been having an ongoing battle with myself between this and the Adam. Already have an Adam exec in grey and love it so another in fawn is tempting but the colour of this Lee has won the day. I'll go $190.
Thanks Paisley, I have not murdered anyone and am usually a gentle soul although came close to violence when someone thoughtlessly spilt candle wax on my vintage Borsalino fedora.
Have also been reminded Major Tom features on Space Oddity and Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie.
Yup in the end I had to agree with that although it was a close run with Flying Down to Rio. Don't think that Ginger gets enough credit for her singing. Watching the DVDs I'm reminded that in the films the songs were fairly evenly split between them both, but later audio recordings tended to...
Tom's diner by Suzanne Vega, although Tom is not mentioned by name in the song although he could be the man behind the counter who only fills the coffee cup halfway.
Just got a 5cd collection called 'Atmosphere' which is a compilation of classic French chansons from the late 20s through to the early 50s. Current track 'Tchi tchi' by Tino Rossi. Wonderful.

I have seen some SB peaked lapel jackets and suits in some of the fashion chain stores here in the London suburbs. Next has a black pinstripe suit, French Connection UK have several colours of jacket some with matching trousers available. I brought myself a light grey, lightweight all wool suit...
Give these a try: Machito, Johnny Pacheco, Mario Bauza, Joe Cuba, and Tito Rodriguez, to name a few! For more modern try Manny Oquendo's Libre - they still carry the torch and it burns hot!
The bodrahn is played one handed with a double headed stick. Some 'real' musicians who play melody instruments have suggested it sounds better if played with a penknife!!
Have played the bodhran (Irish drum) in ceilidh and Irish pub bands for last 15 yrs - and yet have never actually danced at a ceilidh! Have worn Panamas at many of the outdoor events.
I'm with those that have already mentioned The Balvenie. I like it because the smoothness reminds me of my real favourite which is Bushmills 10 yr old Irish whiskey. I think the extra smoothness of the Irish whiskey is due to it being distilled three times rather than the usual twice.
Tango, Argentine not Ballroom, is my passion and has been for the last two years. Previously I'd been dancing salsa for 10years and for the last 8 DJ'ing in a salsa club in the outskirts of London. I love to dance! Anyway first saw Argentine Tango danced socially about 6 years ago and really...
