I have ordered through HPA three or four times and never had any problem with them. They really help you try to get your size right the first time over the phone. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

I've got a 3-year old russet color A-2 from U.S. Authentic. The finish is breaking down in the high wear areas on mine. The color first goes from the russet (finish coat) to a dark seal brown (drum-dyed color) underneath and now there are some areas that have worn down to the peanut-colored...
Very nice choice! I really like the Trojan design also. It looks like Lost Worlds is sourcing some nice mouton these days. That collar looks nice and cozy...ahhhhh.
Enjoy that jacket, she's a beauty!

The Aero redskin B-3 looks very classy. I love my Eastman redskin so I'm a little biased toward the redskin version. :)
By the way - the single pocket works just fine for me. I can put my house keys, car keys and a pair of gloves in there no problem.

Kowalski - those boots look very similar to the boots that I bought from What Price Glory (onlinemilitaria.net). The insignia on the heel is different but everything else looks the same. The overall shape of the What Price Glory RAF boot is not perfect for the 1936 RAF pattern but the quality...

I think the main concern with that type of B-3 is that the sheepskin is unfinished. I think you would need to be careful as the leather surface would tend to soak up anything that it was exposed to (dirt, oils, etc.). It probably won't be a huge issue but something to consider.

Wow, that looks great! It looks a lot like jackets seen in pictures from the early days of aviation; cloth jacket with mouton collar. Very nice choice. Enjoy it in good health.

I would contact Eastman for sure as they may have altered patterns with the advent of the "broken grain" leather series but from my personal experience their broken grain size 44R Rough Wear B-3 fits me perfectly. For reference, I have a 44" chest, 36" waist, and 35" shirt sleeves.
Best of...
My U.S. Authentic A-2 is between 4 and 5 ounce horsehide at different points on the jacket. It's quite heavy, takes a while to break in but it is tough as nails.

I don't have any experience with Aero's B-3 but I've used my Eastman B-3 for riding in some pretty cold weather. Aero's B-3 fleece looks even longer/thicker than mine so it should be even better.
As a side note, I've found that my riding comfort level is largely dependent on the warmth of my...
That was a great buy! I've been checking out that jacket at Lost Worlds' website for a long time but the price is a little steep for me.
How do you find the overall fit of the jacket?
Noel
I used to own one but sold it a few years back. I remember the collar having the two loop and two button closure. I'm not sure why the collar in the website picture looks so odd.
I would e-mail US Authentic and confirm this with them - maybe they changed the design after all these years...
Andrew-
I agree that the WPG boot shape isn't perfect but since no one else is making these style (aside from custom order at a huge price), I thought these were good for the money.

WPG 1936 pattern boots
It sounds like there is some interest in the WPG version of the 1936ers. I took a chance on some last week. I have to say that they are very nice. The construction is quality - goodyear welted all around. They have a full fleece lining including the footbed and they...
That's a beauty! Those early A-2 designs (like SAT, Werber, and Aero) are definitely my favorites. They have little details that just make them special.
I hope you enjoy it.

My experience...
I have bought from both HPA numerous times and from Eastman directly once. Each time was a good experience. My last purchase direct from Eastman was a Roughwear B-3 and the only driver was purely cost otherwise I would have ordered through HPA.
One thing to consider is...
Very nice! I especially like the Royal Enfield but I think your new jacket will look equally at home on any of them.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Noel
Cool jacket! It goes great with the black Strat behind you. That was well worth the trip, I'd say.
By the way, what do you ride? Harley-Davidson, BMW airhead, old British iron? With a username like Pushrod I'm guessing that you don't ride a high-power sport bike. :)
