    New possessions...

It's just nice to see something that is getting harder to find or in such good condition these days, I don't think anyone would think of it as showing off. It's historical and it's very interesting.:)

    Restaurant style...

Remember, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. So this is what you'll be doing as the customers arrive, and probably what they'll remember as well as the quality of the merchandise. I'd say go for it. You will do your employer proud.

    1955 Buick Super

Amazing pictures of these cars. They were the very epitome of America, to an English kid watching 50/60s American movies.

Arriving on May 3rd until the 8th, The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh will pay a State Visit to the United States of America, to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Jamestown settlement. It's her first visit in 16 years. Look after her, she's not so young anymore!

RAF officers cap badge - what colour?

The colour is supposed to be of Royal Purple Velvet as depicted in the picture below. This is the material that sits inside the centre of the crown. However, my cap badge is certainly red, but another I had 12 years ago was more more purple, which bares out what Smithy was saying about...

    5000 loungemembers!!!

I guess that's the bottom line - the English language. Thought there would be more than 5000 who could speak it though. Seriously, it is a great milestone to pass and look forward to many hours of reading and learning more from the lounge members.

    5000 loungemembers!!!

To get back on track, :) my curiosity was in knowing if the whole classic style interest extended beyond the usual US/Canada/Northern Europe/Australasia area. I don't think I've seen any posts from many countries beyond these, with the exception of Japan.

    In the Year Two-Thousannnnd

They are great images. I find it amusing that predictions of the future, made in early Victorian times for instance, the people never included any concept of fashion changes, or were prepared to make even a guess. I know no one knows what people will wear in years to come, but people now often...

    Pier 21

I remember in the 60s it cost 10 GB pounds to emmigrate to Canada, and Australia too. If you came back to England before 5 years you had to pay the full fare for the outward and the return journey to get back. But it must have been so daunting for the child evacuees during WW2 to just leave...

LadyDeWinter it is not wrong to show the photograph. Everyone is somebodies loved one, what ever side you were on.
