RAF officers cap badge - what colour?
The colour is supposed to be of Royal Purple Velvet as depicted in the picture below. This is the material that sits inside the centre of the crown. However, my cap badge is certainly red, but another I had 12 years ago was more more purple, which bares out what Smithy was saying about... -

To get back on track, :) my curiosity was in knowing if the whole classic style interest extended beyond the usual US/Canada/Northern Europe/Australasia area. I don't think I've seen any posts from many countries beyond these, with the exception of Japan.- RAF Man
