This thread is amazing! A lot of inspiration and just plain out lovelyness.
Here's M5226. I saw this shirt on Gertie's blog and HAD to make my own I loved it so much.
It's not perfect (like hers) and I wish those tattoos weren't there, but I like it:
I've tried a few different high end foundations but I keep going back to a drugstore brand!
I love Revlon's Colorstay foundation in the palest shade. Some people find it finnicky since it dries quick, but I love it. Great coverage and pretty cheap.
I'm very Casper-esque and need sunscreen. I'm just now learning to not fight the pale.
I wear a floppy hat in summer and usually spf 50. I just buy the Baby sunscreen spray since I have a little one. And spray it all over, which is so much better than the lotion for me. And then my makeup...
I have to say too that Lasik was definitly worth it! Not looking foward to having to get reading glasses in a few years though.
I also just started using witch hazel from reading a few threads and I'm in love. My skin is awesome. Of course I'm just using the cheapy Walmart brand that has...
Well since I have a very short cut rigt now I wash it more often than I really want to. But I use a lot of hairspray every day to get it looking decent since it's in a growing out phase.
I'd like to get down to once or twice a week though.
Of course I'm not entirely sure how to do that with...
I always want to get a perm but then someone posts a picture of it unset and I change my mind. (of course the picture was still gorgeous). It just brings back so many bad 80s hair memories!
Three I won on ebay not too long ago. I just got a big box of patterns from my grandmother as well but they're mostly from the late 60s and 70s so I'm not sure how much I can get out of them. Still pretty neat though. :)
Edited to add: I want to add a huge NOT in front of that Easy on the...
Vintage Hairstyling (Lauren Rennalls) seems to have great reviews but does anyone know if it has short hairstyles in it? I'm a total beginner to vintage hairstyling and would love to find some short style how-tos.
I like it. And if you're going to style your hair it's probably the best way to go.
I wish my husband would use it. He uses gel *shudder*. At least I've gotten him to use the higher end stuff that doesn't flake.
I guess I should say hello!
I've been lurking around for a bit now trying to find out more about vintage fashions, hairstyles and such.
I just moved to GA from Houston and have a one year old daughter who I stay at home with.
I also love to sew so I'm hoping I can make a "vintage"...
Yep another former consultant. And I bought a TON of product. Never again. I used up most of it but I never cared for their color products. Dried out my skin terribly and the lipsticks were the worst (for me anyway).
I'm with you. I have two large tattoos on the tops of my shoulders. I got those several years ago and now I very much regret them. I can't wear anything without them showing. It's depressing and I wish the lasers worked better but from everything I've read it seems impossible that they would...
I'm new to trying to dress more vintage and trying to grow out my pixie cut. I just can't seem to make it look anything other than straight and modern.
I think it's just not long enough yet, I had it about an inch all over and now it's got about 3 months growth.
Those pictures do help...
