Hi all,
Have a Brand New Filson Makinaw Vest for sale. Brown in color, it is a size medium. This is the best they make, in my opinion. This is still the old Filson, made in the USA.
Price is $60 shipped.

I paid $80 for my Size 46 WWII peacoat and $34 shipped for my early '50s Kersey coat (size 44). It's more a question of time that you're willing to invest in looking around the web, and especially ebay. The WWII one was from Canada and it was a "buy it now", he wanted $100, I offered $80 and...
Holy crap, glad to see this thread at the top! Yes, I still have it! More than willing to let it go as well. Shipping may have went up a bit though but not too much. PM me for details!
I have a large sized DDR peacoat.... it's cheaply constructed of 100% synthetic materials. In fact, mine has the lining starting to disintegrate into a sticky, crumbly, orange mess. It looks nice, but it feels cheap.
I suggest hitting Ebay and looking under vintage and militaria sections: I found two of my three coats there and smaller sizes, like 38, go fairly cheap. Like, really cheap at times. Broke student cheap.
I wear lots of repro military gear. It's great looking, fashionable and unique. I have a few M43-style caps without insignia I wear in winter. My favorite khakis are repro WWII US. And on and on. Also, I collect and wear peacoats. Military styled clothing has been in and out of style for...
Jake Blues. I am fat like Belushi, I have the correct skinny lapel suit, black Stetson stingy, tie, everything. Even a digital watch, broken. And my ray bans fit nicely over my regular glasses.
Ebay is a awesome resource for smaller sizes in pre-1971 peacoats. I just finished looking (and found) a larger size but there were PLENTY of cheap small sized kersey coats.

Lauren.... this hat is great. I mean, I spend time cleaning my hats to get rid of any stains. Hell, maybe this means I can charge a premium on my "beater" hats.
One thing I noticed, when Ralph came out with his fake WWII military line a few years back I was amazed. I can go to any decent repro...
It's a 46. Snug in the midsection but perfect everywhere else. Just means I need to lose some more weight. It's also in absolute excellent shape, both labels are present and in great shape, wool is perfect. I am so happy with this thing. I couldn't stop laughing as I tried it on and fit.
