What do you do for Living?

Ah I have a former NI cuzzie on one of my teams and he is always moaning how good the Psni get it compared to poor civil serpents.

    Show off the sports coats.

One of my favourites, apologies for the shockingly bad photographs. In the flesh, so to speak, the orange and dark red in the check is much brighter.

Whatever happened to "coat and tie required"?

The Rag relaxed their dress code in 2009 for around a month, it went down very badly and lots of people complained. I am happy to say I popped in at the weekend and the rules jacket and tie still stand and there are no jeans, denim, shorts, leggings, T-shirts, halter tops, any sports clothing...

    School Bully Targeting Trilby

Cheltenham College, I escaped by joining the military... Yes one would hope she will see some sense rather than just ignoring it, or putting a blanket ban on something. That really is not the way to go.

    School Bully Targeting Trilby

I would suggest your best course of action is to approach the head teacher (not some front counter lackey) and inform them that your son is being bullied by someone who exhibits prior history of unacceptable behaviour towards others, this is clearly unacceptable and probably goes in violation of...

    Military 'woolly pully' sweaters

I was given one of these for Christmas, I think it is one of my favourite garments that I currently own. I cannot do anything but reccomend Outdoor Knitwear their products are excellent. The dog was not included.

    Veterans Day, 11/11/2010

Just back from the Royal British Legion in my small town. This morning we had the most dreadful weather, however there were around 50 people at the War Memorial many of whom joined in the short parade which I was commanding, I was lucky to have a Lt Commander RN to assist me as he had done one...

2010 Remembrance day coming up! Lest we forget!

I have recently moved to a small town and I was pleased to note that there is quite a prominent war memorial on the High Street. And indeed the town has two parades, one on the 11th at 11am and one on Sunday the 14th at 1330. I am a tad nervous though as I have been asked to be the parade...

Whaddya think of 'Corcoran'-style jump boots?

I have a pair in brown too and I find them very very comfortable and hardwearing. I quite often wear them with my service dress instead of the required pair of brogues and they go very well..

    Ascots

Actually I hate to stir up an argument from 3 years ago, but I will. I quote your statement luvthatlulu because you are wrong. Had the RMP been wearing a red cravat then he would have been correctly dressed. RMP had a red cravat for a time before a red beret was issued. What is wrong though is...

    Ascots

Indeed it was known. My grandfather was a great wearer of the cravat (he retired as a Brigadier) and at the time this post was written, 2007, I would have been wearing one in uniform on occasion for 10 years. In fact it is a practice that I have only recently stopped due to the state of some of...
